I was thrilled when I saw it bottled again, until I tasted it. Crayola yellow with a thin head and a odd, yeasty smell. Thin body with subtle spices (bordering on just plain weak) with a doughy, yeast finish. Still not bad, but not very interesting and not the lively, spicey beer that I remember. Metallic, bready aroma. Underlying lightly floral, earthy aspects and a fair trace of pale malt. Light phenols at the back of the throat. Long pale malt backdrop with a lingering hint of apple skin and yeast. Pleasantly soft Hallertau-like belches. Lacking some depth and personality, but, still, a respectable Wit. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA

This one pours hazy yellow with a large white head. The aroma has lots of orange citrus that is smooth and sour, bits of spice and a drier taste to the wheat than normal. Medium / light body with a bunch of graininess and fairly soft carbonation. The flavor starts off with lots of coriander, bitter orange and a pleasing sourness. The finish is very spicy (coriander, not pepper) and a lingering dull sourness. A well crafted wit. cheapdark (2050), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA

Citrisy and ever so slightly sour, a new taste in beers for me. I did sense a little bitter aftertaste on the finish. This one is better than ness, dortmunder and burning river but is not as good as the fitz. I really don’t appreciate the reference to Moses on the label. Sampled from a 12 oz bottle this beer poured a cloudy yellow-orange with a small creamy white head that lingered for what seemed an eternity. The aroma was fruity, spicy and sweet. The flavor was thick with spice, hops orange and a strong chamomile presence. A truly interesting beer. I doubt that I could drink mass quantities of it, but it was certainly worth the try. cbkschubert (2029), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 20, 2006 Bottle: Slightly hazy golden color. White head. Aroma was spicy (corriander), some bready yeast notes. Flavor had a light breadiness to it, some more of the spiciness. Also a bit fruity. Very drinkable and quite refreshing. I’ve always liked this one. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Pours a nice light orange color and is slightly hazy with a whitish head. Smell is freah wheatiness, & light citrusy lemon and orange. Very refreshing with soft wheat flavor and fruit as well. Smooth body, crisp carbonation with a hint of bitterness in the finish as well. Just a solid, solid wheaty, and citrusy witbier that was super refreshing and easy drinking. Probably my favorite witbier.
