Notes from May 2011: Pale yellow-gold, cluody, fluffy white head. Smells like bread, funky yeast and some cloves, a hint of sulfur. Mouth is bready, biscuity, clove and hint of banana, lemongrass, smooth. Very nice Wit.

Aroma: The nose of this one is lemon, wheat, and plenty of spice/clove
Appearance: It pours a cloudy yellow-white color with a small white head
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, it has a good spice balance, and some light hop
Palate: The feel is clean, it has a light-medium body, and spicy tingle to the finish
Overall Impression: I think this is a really nice one. Very quality example of the style. Quite drinkable, and a good (almost) session beer for sure.

Bottle. Pours pale yellow gold with a large fluffy white head that settles to a foamy tight film and collar. Aroma has notes of yeast, bread and malt with some light spice. Taste starts with biscuit and yeast with a nice gentle spice/pepper and a malty backbone. Palate is full and chalky. Pretty nice.

Bottle @ Brad’s house Minneapolis. Pours a hazy, whitish yellow appearance with a pearl white head. A bit spicy, nice lemongrass, coriander, straw, sweet malty aroma. Tangy fruity, lemon, refreshing, a bit zesty, lightly spicy, coriander, tasty flavor. Easy to drink and I wish I had access to this on a regular basis.

Pours hazy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is mildly fruity with some coriander-like notes. Flavor is fruity/yeasty with light spiciness...good spicy hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is full and silky and the finish is dry and spicy/fruity.

I was a bit concerned when I first poured this brew. It’s filtered which to me is almost a sin for a witbier style. However, the nose retains the yeast spice characters you expect from a witbier so I didn’t panic. Flavor is nice with dough characters and orange peel coming through. Finish is very clean considering its filtered. Solid brew but I wish they would have left it unfiltered.

12 oz bottle from Joe Canals EHT. Poured a bit thin at first but with slight more agitation a nice full fluffy bright white head sat atop a clear golden straw body with lots of rising effervescence. Aroma wet hay, spice, yeast, wet bread and lemon. Fuller bodied with average carbonation that finishes with a big creamy bite and then a lingering spice flavor. Flavor is a touch better then the aroma with notes of hay, spice, yeast, lemons, bubble gum and some ripe banana. Much better then I was expecting, a pleasant surprise indeed.

On tap at Acadia Cafe in MSP. Sweetish light banana, with just a touch of lemon and spice. Light very pale yellow. Very mild fruitiness and no mid-palate change; almost no aftertaste. Light body. Okay, I guess. But not a memorable beer.
