Light Clementine aroma, malts and alcohol. Not enough dry hopping. Flavor is the same flavor as in the aroma. More boozyness and malts. Light bitter finish. Not hopped enough for the abv. A pitfall many double ipas seem to have.

12oz bottle from Chuck’s poured into a snifter. Pours a cloudy orange with a bit of white head. Great lacing. Aroma of citrus, apricot and grapefruit. Taste starts lightly sweet and ends medium bitter. Very citrus-oriented. Medium bodied with a oily yet creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a very long, bitter and alcohol burn finish. Overall, awesome. Something I wish I would have bought the whole 4-pk instead of just a single.

A - Pours a slightly hazy copper-orange color with a finger of frothy white head atop. The head fades down slowly leaving behind some nice lacing. S - Aroma is full of citrus hops and topical fruits. There is also some herbal hops and a bit of sweet caramel malts and a touch of booze. T - Starts off with a nice kick of citrus hops with lots of grapefruit and a bit of pineapple. Nice bitterness alongside. Through the middle, some more bitterness comes through with some herbal and grassy hops. Some of the sweet caramel malts come through as well. The finish is big on the herbal hops with some nice bitterness, sweetness, and booze lingering. M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a nice dry and resiny finish from the hops. D - Very drinkable. Nice strong hop profile and there was just enough malt flavor and other flavors to prevent it from becoming a hop bomb.

Bottle graciously given to me by a friend from work. Pours a yellow/ copper colour with a nice white head that recedes to a thin layer and ring around the glass. Some minute lace here and there. Aroma is very hard to pin down, fruity yet a touch of syrup sweet or something. Taste is bitter but not too much. There is some citrus in there as well. Quite delicious.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Nonic Imperial Pint. Appearance: Slightly hazy honey-gold with moderate head but very little lacing. Aroma: Loads of citrus and spice with some tropical notes. Taste: Burst of sticky sweet citrus, with light tropical notes and caramel malts. Some spiciness and pine at the finish, but not much bitterness. Slightly detracting aftertaste. Palate: Creamy and smooth body that is dripping with hop oils, but the finish is not dry enough and it is a little too boozy. Overall: Pretty good overall, but there are other DIPAs that I would reach for first, and would rather have Great Lake’s own Commodore Perry.

12 oz. bottle thanks to drfabulous. Used a snifter. Pored a hazy orange with large white head that dissipated within a minute to leave a small ring around the snifter, showing light lacing. Nose is a pleasant mix of grapefruit, pine and a mild sweetness. Flavor of grapefruit, sweetness from a big malt backbone. Mouthfeel is sort of thick. Finish starts off sweet then changes to a mild bitterness that lingers a bit. I have to note, I don’t drink many DIPA’s. And I will say that this is a nice example that I can drink. Solid.

On tap at Fiddler’s. This was a very nice looking beer, golden to orange. I got more sweetness than hop blast, but it was nicely balanced. I would go for this again surely, but it doesn’t quite stack up to many of the other nearby DIPA options.

12oz bottle. Light golden amber with a slightly off-white head. Some mango and peach, bit nutty, yeast, orange zest, pine, bit of grass. Very smooth, goot carbonation, some alcohol bite/heat, sweet, becomes dry with some bitterness although the citrus/booze/sweet taste overwhelms the bitterness.
