4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bought from the GLBC gift shop... by the end of this review, Iíll see if I should be cursing their 6 per person per day limit. Starts with an aroma of pine and grapefruit, with a little tannin note to it. Pours a slightly hazy reddish amber, with almost no head, leaving decent lacing down the side of the glass. It has the lovely oily palate of hops, with a flavor that begins on sweet notes, that quickly turn to citrus and bitterness, with a nice long finish. The alcohol is a bit noticeable in the back of the throat, but overall a great DIPA, and one that Iím glad I bought.
And as for the 6 per person per day rule, if it let me get this, itís good... if it kept some of my coworkers from getting it, I can still live with it.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours bright orange with a one finger white head with nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, pine, sweet malts, tropical fruits, and light dankness. Taste is citrus, pine, tropical fruits, sweet malts, caramel, herbal hops, and some light booze. Has a medium-full body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and semi dry, moderately bitter, medium-long finish. Overall, a pretty nice DIPA from a brewery that continues to surprise me.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Yellow/golden appearance with white head. Moderate retention with low lacing. Low hop aroma that has a citrus base. A moderate DMS aroma and taste. Sweet flavor to cover alcohol that contributes to a medium body. Hop bitterness is mod/high in aftertaste. Overall a drinkable beer but not a go-to for an IIPA.

This monster comes out on fire with a hoppy kick to the face. Wonderful aroma of fresh hops and great taste. Very dark.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a bottle to tulip glass. Solid hop aroma. Pours an amber-orange with white head. Flavor is slightly cloying, with overt cracker and bread loaf malt with restrained citrus.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle via Jeremy, cold in a standard glass. Strongly vegetable, pungent, a little resinous, slight eucalyptus, a little sweet malt. Medium body, relaxed carbonation. Sweet malt, vegetable, a little eucalyptus, a touch medicinal; quite sweet with a decent amount of bitterness and a long, medicinal, slightly spicy finish.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
from the aroma to the taste this is an incredibly syrupy tasting imperial IPA. Not a fan of this at all. nice orange color, but not hoppy at all. very disappointing IMO.

Great tasting beer any time of year. Strong taste with notes of citrus. Shame they only sell may-July. Run out & get some next summer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
"aroma of tropical fruit (cantaloupe) herbal hops & sweet malt. big bodied and a touch sticky. balanced flavor with some biscuit malt as well. i had a 4+ month old sample, and would have liked a little more aroma and hop flavor, but it was still pretty nice. good enough to keep my eye out for a fresher one. another trade from Lou!"

resin, floral, citrus, great body and the alcohol is not overwhelming for how high it is.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy golden and straw coloured body with a dense, two centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of fresh herbal and grassy hops with a good deal of coriander seed freshness, some alcohol and a rather yeastie smell along with some barnyard elements - interesting in the nose. Full-bodied; Rich dense yeast flavours dominate with some grassy malt, a hint of citrus and orange flavours and a piney and resinous finish with a lot of alcohol and some strongish sugars. Aftertaste shows the sugars, oranges, grass and light herbal hop notes, but the alcohol and sweetness comes through at the end. Overall, a nicely rich and laced beer with some complexity that you typically donít see in this style. That said, this isnít that great of an Imperial IPA and Iím guessing gets a lot of itís positive reviews from reputation votes. Itís a fine beer, but not great for the style nor worth searching out for. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Cary, North Carolina on 02-August-2014 for US$2,99 sampled at home in Washington on 16-September-2014.
