Issue a small craft advisory: this South Bay Bessie-inspired brew unleashes a beastly hop attack amid torrid tropical flavors.

This monster pours a amber color with a finger sized head. Lacing is everywhere on this one. Not a section of my glass didnít have some kind of lacing on it. The smell was pretty damn nice. Very sweet malt aroma which I wasnít expecting. Grapefruit and citrus. Alcohol is very present and it just says that Iím not a beer to mess around with. This is a very malt forward Double IPA. I thought it was a good mixture of a East Coast and West Coast Double IPA. While the malt is pretty big in the taste, the hops come through big too. Itís a very fruit taste. Grapefruit, citrus, melon, and slight grassy. The only thing that might of gotten in the way slightly was the alcohol taste. While not overbearing, it was still a little to noticeable in my mind. If they somehow hid the alcohol just a little bit more this would be just killer. The mouthfeel was thick, nicely carbonated, oily, and juicy. Itís so hoppy at times I felt the same way I did with Pliny the Younger. Felt like the enamel was coming off your teeth.

From a bottle, nice anger color with an off white head. Very fragrant aroma, citrus, Pitney with some malt. Flavor was very well balanced and mild considering the ABV! This is one great beer.

Nothing subpar bout this Double IPA in my book. It tastes to me just wonderful. Very typical and fully sufficient in hops, malt and high gravity characteristics requisite to this style. This is a terrific bier that compares with all of my favorite Imperial or Double IPAs

12 oz. bottle, consumed on 7-20-15. Labeled ď10/4/15.Ē Pours a clear, effervescent, dark bronze with a moderate amount of golden beige head. Nice color. Good, long-lasting lacing. Light but pleasant, floral aroma. Cereal grains and a surprising element of German beer in the nose. The smell is too weak. Quite sweet flavor, both in terms of a golden apple maltiness and a fruity hoppiness. Not my favorite set of flavors from the hops. Remarkably bitter-dry finish. Borderline astringent aftertaste that I find unpleasant. Medium to full body. Soft and smooth in the palate. Filling and a challenge to drink. Too sweet and floral for my tastes combined with subpar palate effects and low drinkability. One of the lesser Double IPAs Iíve encountered, and that surprises me as it sources from a good brewery.

A walloping DIPA with lots of grapefruit and orange and aggressive hops. Plenty of backing malt, and a light caramel tinge to the finish. Finally, it looks tremendous in the glass, with a glowing amber orange hue that promises richness and depth and delivers.

Pours a reddish amber color with a large foamy canvas colored head. Notes of tangerines, caramel, raw honey, and some flowers. Nice beer well balanced and easy drinking given the abv.

Look - Bright orange. Medium head. White. Light lacing. Others talk about sediment but my bottle was clear. Smell - It has a little of a sour nose. Grapefruit. Malt. Unique compared to other DIPA. Taste - Bitter. More malt than citrus . Feel - Dry finish. Tingle on tongue. Medium. Medium carbonation throughout. Overall - Much higher rating than I expected to give. Unique DIPA. Not a citrus bomb. I would say it is balanced but it adds a new dimension with the faint sour smell and taste.

Clear orange with a thin white head. Very sweet aroma. Cherries and vanilla. Medium bodied and syrupy smooth Carmel and butter. Slight sweetness more of an English barley wine than DIPA ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazed golden liquid with a moderate, foamy off-white head. Nice rings of lace. Mild orange and pine cleaner scents. Light hints of alcohol add to a more industrial aroma. A touch of grain in the background. Flavors are much more mellow than the aroma lets on. Light malt sweetness with a touch of toasted malt and marshmallows in the front. Light pine and white pepper in the middle. A nice balance. Malt reappears in the finish and linger along with a bit of alcohol heat. A bit ďhotĒ in feel. A more traditional twist on a double IPA which I rather enjoy. 2/10
