Commercial Description:
A tawny brown ale with a rich caramelized malt flavor and very mild hop presence. The sweetness of this beer is balanced with the warmth of the higher alcohol level.

See through brown with a touch of amber to it, fluffy white head pretty thin. Great malty flavor with some sweetness of caramel and maybe a little nutty also, pretty roasty, there was an alcohol touch to it as well that left me saying damn this beer kicks ass, and it is now 8.3%

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark amber, medium white head. Aroma is very malty with caramel. Full palate, taste starts off sweet with caramel, and finishes with a slight burn, finish is fairly dry. Good, but not the best of the style.

Draft at the brewpub. Aroma: Pretty light aroma for a scotch ale. Some caramel, bready malt, and a bit of alcohol. Appearance: Pours a clear deep amber color with a reddish tint. Off white head was small and fleeting. Not much lacing. Flavor: Bready maltiness with some nice caramel, toasted nuts, some light fruitiness. Not much bitterness, but finishes fairly clean with just a little lingering sweetness. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Moderate carbonation. Overall: Scotch ales are one of my favorite styles, and I always seemed to miss this one went it went on tap at the Brewpub, so I was determined to try it this time. Dissapointing. Lacking the deep melanoidin caramel, smoky/peaty flavors I seek in the style. Not bad, but not what I was hoping for.

On draught at the brewpub. Pours a deep amber color with a thin off-white head. Not much aroma at all, a little bit of sweetness. Rich, malty, toasty, caramel flavor, hardly any bitterness. Thick mouthfeel that really coats the palate. Nice finish with a little bit of sweetness in the back of your throat. Overall, pretty good, but not my favorite.

Delicious beer sampled on draught at the brewpub, on a cold winter’s night. A very warm, and soothing pint. This beer pours to a deep amber, to light brown color, with a thick, white head, and a soft carbonation. Lots of good sweet malt and caramel in the nose, with hints of peppery alcohol. The palate is rich and full. Good, hefty, body with good sweet and caramel malt, with a touch of estery fruit. This beer ends malty and sweet, and finishes with a nice, soothing burn. Nice after dinner pint, and a great beer to sip with a good desert. Impressive beer.
