SoBloHero (56), Buffalo, New York, USA Mar 5, 2008 A balanced taste with a strong full bodied flavor. Strong hops and a great color make this beer a great autumn offering. strangaj (229), West Chester, Ohio, USA Mar 2, 2008 Super hops but well balanced. Blood red in color and has a nice dry, but even finish. TheCaptain (526), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 13, 2008 Wow, yea lots of hops. The blend of hops and alcohol are a big part of this. Obviously liked by a lot of beer enthusiast that like a lot of da hops! Balanced with dry bitter notes. Well put together beer but not a super hops fan, I would try again though. milljam (562), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Feb 3, 2008 A well-balanced beer..crisp and clean. Good amount of malt with nice hop notes. Very drinkable and highly enjoyable. SlayerofBeers (8), Lakewood, Ohio, USA does not count Jan 31, 2008 A very enjoyable seasonal beer that comes out around Halloween. It pours a deep amber/brown color. The aroma is that of a strong hoppy character. The head is very slight with a tan color. The flavor is strong with slightly citrusy hops and a bit of a floral note. Other characters of the beer come through towards the end and are that of small caramel and toasted malts. An enjoyable beer for the hop heads out there. kassner (429), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 29, 2008 Updated: Sep 25, 2009Bottle from 3 Son, Wexford. from a DAB Tulip Pilsner Glas. Poured dark golden amber with just a hint of haze and modest light tan head. Light fragrance of alcohol and hops but not floral . Very earthy, with hint of butter and hay, and straightforward bitter aftertaste. Very little play for malt or sweetness. Thirst quenching for sure.
9/2009 On tap at Magoo’s and even better theisti (1638), Leawood, Kansas, USA Jan 28, 2008 12 oz. bottle from MrBendo. Pour is orange maroon, clear with tiny carbonation bubbles and a two inch dirty white head that is pretty lasting. Aroma of sweet biscuit malt and bright pine hoppiness. Some earthiness in there also. Taste starts with maltiness, is very lively in the middle with some nice spiciness, and a very dry pine resin hop finish. Some burnt char character in here too. A touch thin on the palate which made this a bit less complex bit crazy drinkable for an 8 percent beer. Nice one. LeMunche (66), Orland Park, Illinois, USA Jan 26, 2008 I’m starting to enjoy IPAs a little bit more and even will choose dreadnaught or dogfish 90 minute over a good stout on some nights. However, this beer was a challenge to drink. I found it to have only 1 dimension, hops. Not balanced.
