Commercial Description:
Often referred to as Burning River Pale Ale's big brother, this stock ale is remarkably balanced for such a highly hopped beer. A rich deep blood red color makes this beer scary enough to be served every Halloween and a few other times of the year.

A good strong ale. The name is fitting based on how blood red the beer itself is. Nice and hoppy just the way I like it. Too bad it is just a seasonal. One of the best Midwest ASA I’ve found in my area.

This ale poured a cloudy dark orange colour with a dirty tan head. Similar to apple cider. To the nose it had scents of ripe fruit, dough, cider and some earthy notes...nutmeg??? First taste instantly had flavours of over steeped tea. Very hoppy palate with a bitter finish. Tea, tea and more tea flavours. Right through the palate. Speaking of which, it was very bitter.

This bottle is from Dec 01/06. The aroma is moderate hoppy. The head is creamy off-white, good lacing and mostly diminishing. The body is clear and amber brown in color. The initial flavor is back of the tongue bitter and a slight acetic, the finish is average. The body is light to medium, the texture watery and the carbonation soft. A good beer tht doesn’’t cellar very well.

Pours a deep copper color with good lacy and frothy head that fades quickly. Aroma if rich resinous pine and malt. Taste is big oily hops with abundance of pine and light caramel malt. Alcohol is pretty well concealed but still makes an appearance. Good stuff!

Yeah, this was a keeper - too bad its seasonal. Poured a deep copper. Pine cones in the nose. A decent rocky gold head with excellent lacing. Full palate. Pine on the font, honey malt in the middle, and a nice kick at the end. This is a very drinkable beer.

Pours a deep amber red. Aroma is piney with caramel hints. Taste is pretty bitter, with a faint pine taste, and a aftertaste of raisin and almond.

bottle pours rich ruby with a frothy head. The aroma is of bold hops, rich malt and and the flavor is powerful and full. The finish is bitter and dry with an alcohol kick. Super tasty! Fall can’s come soon enough!

12-oz. Thanks, Pantanap! Rubied, luminescent, clear body. Dense but thin bubbly head. Very spotty lace. Very raspberry and brown sugar nose. Light to medium body, almost watery, very soft carb. Pie spice and borown sugar right from the attack; almost a dark wood note in there as well. Clingy spicy finish.
