Commercial Description:
Often referred to as Burning River Pale Ale's big brother, this stock ale is remarkably balanced for such a highly hopped beer. A rich deep blood red color makes this beer scary enough to be served every Halloween and a few other times of the year.

Another bottle I received from miketd. Poured a ruby amber color with a light beige head. Aroma is not very strong, but it is pleasant. Sweet, lightly malted aroma. Sweet, smooth malt entry. Some spicy and floral undertones that lead into a mild hoppy finish. Nice and full on the palate, and pretty easy drinking. A real nice beer, thanks Mike.

Bottle via trade with kryptic. Nice aroma. Lots of hops: floral (violets and lavender), some pleasant spice as well backed by some faint sweeter malt. Pours an attractive ruby/copper. Excellent lacing and head retention. Fairly full bodied and creamy on the palate. Notes of pine, cut flowers, some spice and drier malt. Finishes with a very pleasant and mildly dry hoppy oiliness.

Clear red-brown body under a tan head - very Arrogant Bastard-like. The aroma takes on a spicy nutmeg and red pepper element - kind of a peppery pumpkin pie. A buttery-soft biscuit base with stewed raisin highlights is then accented with a peppery, citrusy hops. The fine carbonation lends a smooth, silky mouthfeel. Fine stuff.

Bottle. Clean ruby red color. A bit too bitter for me. It has a surprising creaminess on the mouth. Slightly soapy finish. Strong flavor profile overall.

Nice pour, Mellowed abit from sitting, some alcohol on the first sips, then calmed as it warmed, some citrus, Hints of hops, nice maltiness to it, a dangerous drinker if one isn’t careful! Very good.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with DeuceDeuceOU. This beer pours one of the reddest reds I have seen in a beer. Clear and brilliant with a bubbly and creamy linen white head that left partial lacing on the glass. Aroma is lightly toasted malt with just a whisp of pine. The flavor is initially malt and quickly flashes over to a strongly bitter hops flavor. As the beer breathes a bit, I’ve noticed the bitterness subside ever so slightly, but is still asserive. Despite the strong bitterness, it really does not linger after the swallow. A fun beer to drink - I should have had this one on Halloween!

12oz bottle that looks to be more than a year old if I’m reading the label correctly. It pours a crystal clear amber with off white head. The aroma is pretty solid with pine like hops, rich roasted malts and sweet caramelized malts. The taste is full and aggressive. The pine hoppiness hits hard up front and slowly gives up ground to roasted malts and sweet crystal malts. The hop assertiveness never recedes. The malts seem to struggle to reach the hop flavor plateau but just don’t have enough juice to pull it off. The malts whimper off into the background toward the finish and allow the hoppiness to shine though. It seems a bit thin somehow.
