Commercial Description:
Often referred to as Burning River Pale Ale's big brother, this stock ale is remarkably balanced for such a highly hopped beer. A rich deep blood red color makes this beer scary enough to be served every Halloween and a few other times of the year.

Bottle. Red body, small off-white head with lacing, hoppy nose. Mostly PNW hops, somewhat sweet. Dangerously drinkable, but not outstanding.

Great beer, but i dont quite agree with the description, the hops arent as balanced as they could be.

Poured reddish orange into the glass. I thought it was a DIPA when I was drinking it. But American strong ale explains the malty and sweet characteristics. Seemed a little thin and not as balanced as others I have had. Overall, still a good beer.

Fairly clear, deep crimson body. High carbonation is apparent. Small, off-white head settles to a thin film with a prominent edge. Minimal, perfectly symmetrical polka dots of lacing. The aroma shows prominent grassy, herbal hops over a toasty, grainy, rye malt profile. Caramel is present, as are faint, indiscernible fruits and cereal smells. The flavor is very hoppy, with a toasty, grainy, rye background. Medium body that is smooth and easy to drink. Long, bitter, moderately astringent finish. Nice brew.

Dark copper-red pour with a lasting light-tan head. Very earthy aroma with a lot of piney hops and malty sweetness. Full mouthfeel, nice carbonation. Initially it’s thick, resinous with strong pine. Floral towards the middle and the malt appears towards the finish, caramel, bitter. Strong and warming without evident alcohol. Big beer, big taste! Heck yeah.

Dark beer with a nice white head. Good bottle. Nice aroma of hops, some fruit and subtle roasted malt. Very smooth and rich body. Maltiness balanced well with spice and hops and well as fruit.

Pours a beautiful amber/deep red with a large, foamy head. Nice aroma of spice, caramel and hops. Flavor shows a good amount of hop bitterness with the caramel/roasted malts backing them nicely. Pleasently bitter finnish. Had good lacing throughout the glass. The release of this beer is always a happy time.
