Commercial Description:
Often referred to as Burning River Pale Ale's big brother, this stock ale is remarkably balanced for such a highly hopped beer. A rich deep blood red color makes this beer scary enough to be served every Halloween and a few other times of the year.

Dark beer with a nice white head. Good bottle. Nice aroma of hops, some fruit and subtle roasted malt. Very smooth and rich body. Maltiness balanced well with spice and hops and well as fruit.

Pours a beautiful amber/deep red with a large, foamy head. Nice aroma of spice, caramel and hops. Flavor shows a good amount of hop bitterness with the caramel/roasted malts backing them nicely. Pleasently bitter finnish. Had good lacing throughout the glass. The release of this beer is always a happy time.

A nice and potent American Strong. Pour was absolutely beautiful. Dark ruby with a nice 2 finger off white head and plenty of tiny bubbles. Aroma of earthy and citrusy hops. Taste was big and bold with the hops taking the main stage. Pine and citrus aftertaste with a strong alcohol burn. Nice.

Dark amber with big, foamy, tan head / Herbaceous, piney nose / Medium, sticky body with sharp hop finish / Flavors of grapefruit, lemon, burnt sugar, and pine / Terrific, but pretty much a 2ipa I’d say.

Pours brownish copper and slightly cloudy. The cloudiness faded quickly, but never cleared completely. Hoppy aroma and massive floral hops in the taste. Vague hint of something tart and also a slight coffee-like finish. Very pleasant, and gets more drinkable as it warms.

This starts with a nice strong pine hop aroma, and pours a brilliant red with a thin white head. Nice sharp bitterness balanced out by a touch of caramel malts. Very easy to drink, with the alcohol very well hidden in the flavor. Something I look forward to every year.

Finally tried it and I was happy. Not quite as bitter as an IPA, it has a nice blast of malt to calm it down. It also has a light fruity falvor but seems to be a bit heavy compared to similarly styled beers, but that being said it is a pretty good beer.

clear redish amber, thin off white head leaves nice lace, light sweet carmel malt aroma with a touch of floral hops, mostly dry malt flavor with a double does of hops leading to a bitter finish, malt grows bigger as it warms and a touch of sweetness shows up, just a hint of alcohol as it approaches room temperature, never really develops any character

Aroma: 6/10; Appearance: 8/10; Flavor: 5/10; Palate: 5/10; Overall: 10/20
Rating: 2.8/5.0
Score: *4
