Commercial Description:
Often referred to as Burning River Pale Ale's big brother, this stock ale is remarkably balanced for such a highly hopped beer. A rich deep blood red color makes this beer scary enough to be served every Halloween and a few other times of the year.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a pretty, amber golden with a yellowish head. Fresh, hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied with roasted malts and caramel and then some perfumy, Hubba Bubba like accents. Rather hoppy finish. Lovely. Courtesy of JCapriotti. 120207

Beer pours bright red amber color with a partially retained beige colored head that leaves lacing on the glass. Aroma is spicy, hoppy, caramel, and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet caramel, fresh pineapple and hop bitterness. Very nice interplay between the malty goodness and the sharp, cutting hoppiness. Finish is hoppy spicey. Would love to drink more of this. Mouthfeel is solid and beer sticks to lips during comsumpiton.

Bottle thanks to DrBayern! Pours a dark amber color with a nice off-white head on top. Aroma full of malts, with dark fruits, caramel and hints of hops. Flavor is full of more hops than the aroma of the beer makes you think. The hops make way to finish with a nice sweet maltiness. More balanced than the nose makes you think. A pretty tasty beer!

Bottle from trade. Pours a dark copper color with a small off white head.Aroma of grapefruit and caramel. Taste is of hops and spices. Flavor is odd and uninspiring. Finishes with a dry sweetness lingering on the tongue.

12 oz bottle says Dec 07/06. Pours reddish amber with small foamy off-white head with a bit of orange hues present. Very strong hops presense in the aroma with a sweet malty melon-like aroma. Nice bitter burn, lot of hops in here. Feels thick with a kind of tangy, piney bitterness. Good stuff here.

12 oz bottle bonus via trade with West Side Threat. Pours cloudy orange with a white film of a head. Scent is rich and malty with a bit of a hoppy edge. The taste is a very nice balance between a full force hoppy bitterness and a nice malty taste. The hops really stick with my mouth after I finish taking a sip. This is certainly a high quality American Strong Ale.

A dark amber pour with a nice gooey lacing and an aroma of fruity caramel malt. A flavor that reeks of sweet malt initially and then kicks in with a nice hop bitter. A pallet that is very solid. A damn good beer that I’ll have to admit I could not identify until I looked it up.
