Commercial Description:
Often referred to as Burning River Pale Ale's big brother, this stock ale is remarkably balanced for such a highly hopped beer. A rich deep blood red color makes this beer scary enough to be served every Halloween and a few other times of the year.

Bottle. Pours a crimson red that shows a brilliant ruby in light. A large light tan head that laces the glass rests atop this fine ale. Beautiful sweet full hoppy aroma. Smooth, full, crisp, excellent, this sweet, citrusy beer is a great balance of hops and malt with a beautiful resinous body. As excellent as I remembered having it on tap when it came out this year.

Hazy amber with an off white top. Well balanced brew tasted more like an English style with heavy caramel/toffee malt accent. Generous amount of bitter hops. Full body, balanced. Very drinkable. Well done.

Bottle, pours reddish-brown with a small head. Has a strong hop aroma. Tastes of bitterness with citrus, a nice amount of hops, perfect for the time of year.

You almost want to give it a five star for the label. A very fine experience from a fine brewery. From the bottle it pours a redish (bloody) mohagany and wow what a great swirling experince from a snifter. It has a palate that’s complex and hard to decribe for me because I’m no Michael Jackson.

Bottle purchased at the GLBC gift shop. Pours a deep red, almost the color of the label, with a thin head. Significant hop aroma, mainly floral. Exceedingly bitter, almost like a double IPA. Medium body. A bit sweet, but not enough body.

Bottle. Very good beer. Definite red color - pretty pour - not much head. Sweet, malty theme followed but a good bit of hopps. A bit dull in the mouth, though - could use a bit more life. Flavor is outstanding and very smooth. A good brew from a great brewery.

Reddish brown color with light head. Hoppy aroma, reminiscent of a good IIPA. Taste is sweet, syrupy, and richly hopped. Body is good up front, but fades late in the sip. This one had lots of promise, but was just a bit disappointing. Still a good beer.

Very nice brew from Great Lakes. The pour is a dark copper color with a small head. Aroma of hops, and what I would call rye. Great balance in the flavor with lots of great malt presence and a very nice amount of spicey hops.
