COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Often referred to as Burning River Pale Ale’s big brother, this stock ale is remarkably balanced for such a highly hopped beer. A rich deep blood red color makes this beer scary enough to be served every Halloween and a few other times of the year.

Caramel color, nice hoppy middle with and slightly bitter end. I’d say 4 out of 5 easy.

12oz bottle from Dave. Pours a reddish brown color with a small foamy tan head. Aroma is boozy, with lots of sweet caramel, alcohol soaked raisins, rotted orange and apricot. Taste is much the same, with some roasted grains, and some earthy bitterness that lingers in the finish.

Drank on tap poured into a pint glass at the Smiling Moose. Pours a dark reddish amber, with decent head. Taste of sweet and roasted malts.

Appearance is red color. Aroma isn’t memorable. Taste is some spice and on the stronger alcohol side. Overall a decent, but not great one.

bottle @ Vino Bellissimo / Lima OH --- Clear dark amber, 1" tan head, swirls and streaks of lace. Taste is caramel malt that grows fuller and richer in the palate, adding mild hops on the swallow, all parts joining on a solid lingering finish. Highly recommended.

Clear Reddish Amber, Huge Foamy That Lasts And Leaves Thin Rings Of Lacing. Sweet Malt, Light Hop Aroma. Sweet Malt, Light Resin, Modest Hop Bitter. Low Carbonation, Starts Full Body, Finishes a Lot Thinner Than It Started..Hides High ABV Real Well. Smooth and Easy Drinker. Pretty Good. Recommended.

Very hopped up beer. It is really red and fun to drink in the winter and fall. A good stock ale with a great label.

Bottle. Berry, orange peel, caramel malt and light alcohol aroma. Amber with large light tan head. Lightly sweet caramel malt and moderately intense bitter grapefruit peel and mild alcohol flavor.

Bottle. Slightly clouded red color with tall offwhite head. Aroma is fruits and caramel. Nice bitterness up front with hints of citrus and pine. The bitterness is well balanced by the fruity sweetness of the malts. Medium body and carbonation with a crisp finish. I really like this one!

On tap in the Pittsburgh airport, Bar Symon. I smell wood smoke, toffee, black pepper. Clear orange brown with moderate khaki head. Flavors of toasted grain, resin, peaches, alcohol. My mouth likes it a lot. Fine balance of malt complexity with hop edge.
