Commercial Description:
Often referred to as Burning River Pale Ale's big brother, this stock ale is remarkably balanced for such a highly hopped beer. A rich deep blood red color makes this beer scary enough to be served every Halloween and a few other times of the year.

A hazy amber beer with a disappearing orange head. The aroma is sweet, very hoppy, with notes of caramel. The flavor is very sweet with notes of alcohol, caramel and a lovely bitter dry end.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a pretty, amber golden with a yellowish head. Fresh, hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied with roasted malts and caramel and then some perfumy, Hubba Bubba like accents. Rather hoppy finish. Lovely. Courtesy of JCapriotti. 120207

Bottled. Amber colour. Caramel aroma. Sweet with dense mouthfeel. Intense grapefruity hoppiness over a lovely malt character and a lingering very bitter finish. Like with almost every Great Lakes beer this is perfect quality.

clear redish amber, thin off white head leaves nice lace, light sweet carmel malt aroma with a touch of floral hops, mostly dry malt flavor with a double does of hops leading to a bitter finish, malt grows bigger as it warms and a touch of sweetness shows up, just a hint of alcohol as it approaches room temperature, never really develops any character

12oz bottle acquired in trade with BBB63 (thanks!). Bottle labeled best before Nov. 20, 04. Poured a medium and clear amber color with a very small sized off white head. The color had a reddish hue to it as well. Aromas of hops (still there after a year past its BB date), oranges, citrus, and a light smokiness in the background. Tastes of orange peel, citrus and caramel. Nicely balanced. Sticky body. I wonder what the hops would be like in a fresh bottle.

Bottle... Clear, amber ale with orange highlights. Small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Citrusy, fruity aroma with a very slight pine undertone. Moderately bitter, grapefruit flavor with a solid, caramel / malt backbone. Full-bodied and ultra creamy with medium carbonation. Finishes dry and grassy. Great brew! Thanks to scraff for the bottle.
