ravidesai (915), Bombay, India Jan 22, 2002 very dark , opaque with a touch of red. nice sustained head.
very malty but a little sweet, flavour of toasted oats. very smooth with a thick ample palate. Another great beverage from great lakes TINOZACCA (146), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Sep 10, 2005 This stout is great. The body is not as thick as the major selling stout that everyone knows. And the head needs to hold a little longer. But the body feels great on the palate. The aroma is nutty, coffee, and wheaty. The beer flows down great. And the taste is almost of a nut brown with thick malt and wheat flavors. The beer finishes with a nice bitterness, smoother than the forementioned mass imported stout, and the wheat, malt, and hops really come through in the aftertaste. A great choice to start out the night strong. fiver29 (336), Strongsville, Ohio, USA May 24, 2008 Growler pours pitch black with a tan head. Has a nice roasty smell with some raosty malts mixed in. Has a light mouthfeel that I wish was a little heavier. The flavors that this beer has is what makes it. It is very chocolatey upfront with a smooth roasted malt flavor on the back side. It has some sweetness mixed in. Overall this is a solid beer that would be a regular in my fridge if they offered it in bottles. This is a great beer. blank (999), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jan 19, 2003 a very nice oatmeal stout. a good flavor and a nice balance. one of the better oatmeals that i've had... Drew (2377), Kent, Ohio, USA Oct 20, 2003 10/18/03 - At the pub for my wife's birthday dinner. This time, they've got the ABV listed at 7.5%. Dark black, perfect tan head and thick sheets of lace. The first few sips remind me of chocolate milk - very smooth and very thick, despite being served on nitro. Tastes are sweet chocolate, lightly roasted coffee, fruity in the background, not very bitter at all. It's very rare for me to get excited over a stout, but liet me tell you, this one is well worth a visit. Even my wife drank most of a pint!(That's very rare indeed!)
