COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
”Quitness” is a cask conditioned, dry hopped India Pale Ale that leaves a bitter aftertaste, perfectly describing the mood of Cleveland sports fans these days.

On tap at the brewpub on 10/28/10. Completely opaque orange pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma is super grassy hops and a bit of sweet malt. Orange and grapefruit flavor up front with a bit of pine before a bitter, grassy finish. Bitter as hell and that’s a good thing!

Had on tap at GLBC. Pours a golden color with decent white head. The aroma is typical of an IPA; very citrus and grapefruit like with some nice floral hops and pine. The taste was the same but it had an awesome bitterness to it that I loved. Really wish they would bottle this.

On-tap at the brewpub, December 2nd after the Cleveland-Miami game. Hazy golden-orange with a bit of white head. Smells of citrus; pineapple and grapefruit most notably. Both of these noticeable in the taste as well, along with the beer’s touted hop bitterness. Could easily have drank a few of these that night.

golden with large white head. decent nose of citrus and herbal hop notes. firm bitterness before a touch of low crystal malt sweetness before decent hop flavor as above mentioned, though the hops really don’t "pop", leaving the beer somewhat muddled. decent version

Drank at the brewery on 10/29, this is the batch that was released two days earlier for the Cavs home opener. Luckily they still had some left. Cloudy gold-amber color with a small and rough/rocky head. Strong pineapple, apricot, and peaches on the nose. All fruit, no hops on the nose, very different from any IPA that I have smelled before. It made me wonder what kind of hops they used to give such a fruity aroma (I still haven’t found the answer to that). The beer tastes like eating a grapefruit. Very bitter tail, true to the brewer’s description. Although it is bitter at the end, it totally pulls it off, it is not bitter in an inappropriate or off-putting way. The taste completely matches the attitude of the beer’s name and description. Halfway through, I can start to detect a little pine on the nose mixed in with the fruit, more like a typical IPA. Moderate lacing is left on the glass. Overall, an atypical but very enjoyable IPA experience. Although the bitter aftertaste matches the attitude of most Cleveland sports fans, drinking this beer in a wooded basement on a cold cloudy day in Cleveland with the smell of hops and barely from the brewery makes you with you were in no other city in the world.
