On draught at Winking Lizard. The beer pours a dark reddish-amber color with a thin light beige head that disappears quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark malts and bourbon. Full-bodied with a bourbon forward flavor and notes of ripe fruit, caramel malt and vanilla. The finish is boozy with a lingering oaky vanilla aftertaste. Could use more balance but still a pretty good beer.

JW77 hooks it up yet again. Copperish pour. Aroma is full of bourbon, honey, fruit, vanilla and did I mention bourbon? Flavor is sweet and loaded with bourbon and vanilla. NICE!

Growler… O-Town Throwdown Part TresThis beer rocks!… Murky, caramel-colored ale with a small, fizzy, white head. No retention. The aroma is a malty, earthen marriage of tangy sourmash, oak, vanilla, toffee and caramel. Big, sweet, boozy, bourbon, caramel and malted grain flavor. Full-bodied and syrupy with prickly carbonation. Finishes sticky-sweet, bourbony and woodsy. Cheers to crizay for transporting and sharing his growler of this wonderful bourbon barrel-aged beer!

Sample from a growler. Dark brown colored body with a light haziness. Nose is inviting and rich brandy, spicy, sweet, peppery, alcoholic... Big sweet alcoholized brandy pear and plum syrup flavor. Rich and spicy toffee in a thick and oily finish. Awesome stuff.

Big thanks to crizay for scoring this tasty growler and hauling it all the way down to Florida for the 3rd installement of the epic Orlando Throwdown tasting series. Pours dirty hazy amber brown with weak white head. The aroma is big with solid sweet bourbon and wood along with vague malt sweetness. The taste begins sugary sweet with malts that quickly becomes bourbon and wood but still the mild caramel candy and caramelized sweet malts are in control of the flavor. As the experience progresses the dry bourbon booziness grows into the finish with mild tannin and the remainder of the wood in tow. Nice barrel aged beer. If I had to be picky I’d say that it sort of over powers the base beer a bit too much. Still tasty though.

Growler shared by hopdog on 10/25/08: Pours a transparent copper amber with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet and rich dark caramel bourbon with some toasty oak character. Body starts with rich sweet dark maltiness and good complex bourbon balance before a flavorful dark fruity finish. Nicely balanced and fairly drinkable.
