COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rally Drum Red Ale is an American Red Ale, a modern non-traditional style borrowing heavily from characteristics associated with more classical styles such as “pale ales” or “bitters.” This unfiltered copper-colored ale is brewed with a blend of Harrington 2-Row Base Malt, Crystal 77, and Special Roast malts, yielding a toasty layered complexity. Cascade and Simcoe hops add bitterness and aroma.

Draft at Fire Works Leesburg. Pours orange with an inch of white foam. Some leafy hop notes on the nose. Big leafy hop notes on the tongue. Flavorful without the hop bomb in the finish. Very nice for style!

Draft at Maria’s. Pours a deep red, quite clear with a frothy white head. Nose is freshly hoppy, citrusy and fruity. Toasty malt in the background as well. Very clean, light caramel that works. Taste is crisp and clean, moderate bitterness with rounded hop flavor, citrus. Low caramel and a toasty quality. Solid Amber.

Nice red ale, very easy on the nose and the bitter, citrus tinged hops are a pleasant surprise. If the alcohol was any higher I think it might be a little too much for what it is, which is essentially a slightly more interesting take on the drinkable red ale. Well worth a drink on a nice sunny day.

Bright cooper color out of the tap with a sticky, creamy ivory head. Hoppy grapefruit nose. Very hop forward beer with aggressive grapefruit and pine flavors all over a strong caramel maltiness. Long grapefruit juice finish. If you like really hoppy ambers, here you go...

A good punch of bitter grapefruit up front with some nice fleshy grapefruit notes ( slightly sweet.) In the middle is a chewy malt with mild sweet notes. Rolls to the back with a bitter pine finish. The finish is dry. A very nice red ale - some similar notes to Founders Reds Rye, but not quite as good.

On tap at SPSBF. Pours a clear reddish amber with a cream brown head that retains throughout the beer. Aroma has a good amount of caramel and sweet grains with some backing grassiness. Flavor has a earthy grain backbone with a bit of sweetness from caramel and a nice grassy hop overtone.
