Very slightly cloudy light amber color. Average head and body. Hoppy aroma and flavor with added rye spiciness. Lacks the hop fruitiness of Hop Rod Rye.

On draft. Pours a light copper/tan with a thin but resiliant small bead, off white head. Aroma is caramel and spices. Taste is sweet caramel malt, some biscuit and a whole heap of hop bitterness. I’m thinking the hops are a bit overdone, but this is a robust, refreshing and well balanced IPA. Good job!

Nicely done, tons of hops & explosive flavor. Sampled from draft, which made the experiece even better.

Poured from bottle. Faint hop and rye aroma. Beautiful amber with fluffy white head. Floral and pine hops with the rye give a decently bitter hit. Caramel, nutmeg, spice notes. Well balanced. Nicely done.

Ughsmash (6670) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Bottled. Poured clear, medium golden with a short beige head. The aroma picked up juicy orange hoppage plus spicy pine and rye.. quite nice. The flavor found sweet caramel and a touch of molasses at the core, with the same spicy pine and peppery rye around.. finished quite peppery. Medium-bodied with nice carbonation.. good feel and flow.

PhillyCraft (1975) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Tap. Pours red tinted hazy orange with creamy off white head, more then average lacing. Aromas are light hops, malt, and some spicy rye. Taste is bitter hops, light sugar, lemons, rye, vanilla and more bitter grapefruit from the hop recipe. Medium body. Pretty solid.

Why are there so many beers with this cheesy name? Anyways, this explodes with grapefruit nose, then has a satisfying palate, rich, malty, plenty of hops, left me with quite a dry mouth.

Boutip (3971) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 17, 2013
Tap: Poured a clear dark golden color ale with a small foamy head with medium retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of spicy rye notes with some citrus hops notes. Taste is dominated by citrus notes with some spicy rye malt with light bitter finish. Body is a bit light with good carbonation. Not bad just a little bit softer then I was expecting with rye not coming out as much as expected.

Poured from a bottle into a clean pint glass,NIce fruity aroma with hints of rye and spices .Thick off-white head that stays til the end with nice lacing. The taste is a nice mix of malt and hops, with the bitterness lingering on the tongue. Very nice IPA,reminiscent of Founder’s Red’s RyePA.,another great Michigan beer.
