Hazy orange with light, white, head / Bright nose of orange, grapefruit, cut pine, weed, and bubblegum / Medium body, chewy, some sweetness, a tad thin, but with good balance and moderately bitter finish / Fresh flavors of orange, grapefruit, caramel, cut pine, bubblegum, and rye spice / A terrific ale with a minor body flaw.

Pours a hazy cloudy copper orange with a creamy off white head, decent lace and some larger bubbles on top. The nose has some light caramel malt foundation, very faint note of bready rye, citrusy and oily hop with notes of peppery spice. The taste is more spicy and less hoppy, a bit soft up front. Caramel malt, a fair bit of rye and some peppery spice, citrus hops, oily and piney. The feel is a bit thin up front but an assertive carb and light driness in the back add to the soft palate.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2011 On tap, Great Lakes. Very hazy browned orange with a small light tan head. Fantastic grapefruit nose with black pepper - straight forward but pleasant. Moderately bitter flavor turns mildly sweet before the crisp rye bread note hits, ending slightly astringent with some pine resin. Dangerously quaffable.

The taste is nice citrusy grapefuit with a rye finish.
Nice feel and easy drinker.

Huge thanks to RyanMcFly1985 for going out of his way and grabbing a growler of this for me.
Pours a hazed orange copper color with a nice off white head. Smell is pretty pungent with some nice citrus hops loaded with grapefruit along with some floral notes. A bit of spiciness I assume comes from the rye and a touch of sweet caramel malt. The taste draws back quite a bit from the nose. Nice flavor bouquet, but not quite as pungent and hop-forward as I was expecting from the nose. Mouthfeel is nice and dry with a medium body. Drinkability is nice. Enough going on to keep me back and the nose is quite wonderful.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2010 On-tap for CBC week at South Loop Binny’s.
A - Pours a slightly hazy yellow/orange color with a white head. There a slight cap on top of the body and a few bubbles here and there. Otherwise, just a yellow/orange glass of deliciousness.
S - Rye, citrus, floral, touch of malts. Very well-balanced and an amazing beer to smell.
T - Similar to the nose. Again, well-balanced. The hops, rye, and malts work together so well with this beer, I was telling Alex (Masterski) over and over how great this tasted to me. A nice bitter finish that works together with the rye notes.
M - Light bodied, crisp, medium carbonation with an oily finish.
D - I had two of these and could have easily had more. I really really liked this beer. IMO, it blows Red’s Rye out of the water. Not even f’n close. Mad props to Great Lakes for making this one!
