3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a 12 oz bottle into an IPA glass. The aroma is roasted grain and rye with a caramel touch. Appearance is clear honey yellow-brown color with a foamy white head. Taste is highly bitter beer with a mellow, malty, medium sweetness. Palate is full body finish. Strong aftertaste that has a lingering quality. Power house rye.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Lots of different aromas - spruce, honey, that raw/wild rye aroma and even some fruit - maybe mango.
Coppery color, mostly clear with an off-white moderate head.
Taste is somewhat sweet with plenty of hop bitterness.
Medium body, creamy and slightly oily texture. Carbonation just a little lively, which works well with all the strong flavors and a long lively, bitter finish.
I like the strong but diverse flavors - lots of hop, wild rye, just the right amount of sweetness and even just a touch of fruit.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer has serious hops and gives a real kick in the IPA. It has real complexity. Great label and has some spice to add to the flavor.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle: Highly cloudy body, sitting somewhere between amber & orange. Slow forming head that grows huge, three fingers at least with a modest pour; just as slow to recede, nice lacing left behind. Beautiful looking beer. Aroma is LOADED with rye. Very spicy & dry on the nostrils. Toasted grains, leafy, herbal, ashy... Bitter, white pepper covered grapefruit rinds in the background with a charred bread back-end. The first sip isn’t quite a spicy as the nose would indicate, which is good. Still plenty of herbal, peppery bitterness & a bit of spiciness on the tongue from the rye, but it’s manageable. Mild hop bitterness; cut & dry experience. Buried citrus flavors, maybe a hint of grapefruit. The bitter pith, not so much the sweet or acidic flesh. Burnt toast & spicy rye seeds in the finish. Surprisingly creamy body. Generally not a fan of rye beers... This one was decent, but I still didn’t love it.

Poured from growler into a pint glass
Appearance – Pours a beautiful golden-orange color with a nice and thick two finger orange tinted head. The head is amazing in retention very slowly fading to leave a wonderful level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The has a nice smell of rye and a bready aroma. With these malty aromas is a good presence of sweeter aromas as well as hops. The hops are mainly of a grapefruit smell but are accompanied by some grassy hop as well. The sweeter aromas are of a citrus tangerine and some smells of caramel. Rounding out all the aromas is some spicy notes creating an overall pleasing smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a fantastic rye and bready flavor mixed with a bit of caramel sweetness. A grapefruit hop flavor quickly complements these. This grapefruit grows stronger through the taste, but is balanced by a sweeter orange flavor that begins coming to the tongue. Some grassy and spicy hop flavors later develop in the taste, with the sweeter flavors beginning to fade some at the end and the grapefruit flavor getting stronger. The rye and bready flavors remain consistent throughout the taste profile and create a great base of support for all the hop flavors. In the end a pleasant and rather balanced rye and bitter hopped flavor is left to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the brew is nice and creamy with a carbonation level that is on the average to just below average side. The creamier body and lower carbonation are great for allowing all those wonderful rye and hop flavors to be sensed by the tongue while not being too overwhelming to effect the beers drinkability.
Overall – This is a very enjoyable and tasty rye IPA. Just about everything is awesome. It has a great look, smell, taste, and feel. This is one that I will certainly buy on much more occasion.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep golden bodied with a sustained white head, this ale has a caramel nose coupled with lemon zest, pips, and black pepper. It’s got a rich, creamy mouthfeel to it. The flavor begins with caramel and sweet grain soon to be overtaken by a lemony, zesty bitterness. The solid ABV remains well hidden throughout. The finish is dry and bitter, a bitterness that started out quietly but increased during the course of the drinking. Not too shabby.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Honey orange. Rye spice, caramel malt, and tropical fruit aroma. The taste follows and adds peach, honey, and mango. Barely any rye in the taste. Light clean mouthfeel. I really enjoyed this but, it was more of a sweet tropical fruity ipa.
