3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Enjoyed on tap at Wild Monk. Served in a shaker pint.
A: Pours a solid orange color with a thick white head forming on the pour. It leaves heavy coatings of lace down the glass.
S: Light lager yeast profile with wheat sweetness to it. Orange citrus with a little lemon action going on as well.
T: Slightly bitter with a lot of deep citrus notes. Sweet cereal grains with a twist of noble hops thrown in on the finish. Slightly yeasty.
M: Super light with a hint of sweetness. Really drinkable with a medium carbonation level.
O: Superbly drinkable and really flavorful. Definitely enjoyed the balance of this one.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours hazy gold with white head. Aroma is little bit of citrus hops and pilsner malts. Lots of big pilsner malt flavors, corn, lots of corn flavor. Little bit of pine hops. Not bad but a little cumbersome for a pilsner and the malts lean to heavy on the corn taste.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Citrus pine hops on the nose...hints of sweet bread and malt also. Nice clear amber color with thick white head that holds well. Sweet up front, then bitterness creeps in slowly but finishes strong. More lager like in appearance than taste or mouth feel. Bitterness is strong and aftertaste lingers quite a while...dry. Reminiscent of the bitterness found in the Burning River pale which was a bit over powering.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Generally sweet with some hop presence. Peppery and grassy. Just realized the enjoy by date is two months ago. Ok. Probably better fresh.

Bottle thanks to Homer321. Pours a clear amber color. Aroma of sweet malt, some hops and slight adjunct character. Sweet malt flavor, mild hop bitterness, light caramel....overall, a little on the sweet side.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
A decent hoppy lager. Was kind of expecting to like it a bit more. There is many others I would rather have.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. Pour is a crisp, clear copper with a thicker white head and minimal lacing. The aroma has a decent amount of hops, some fruitiness, and not much else. The taste is lightly hoppy, and there isn't much else going on. It finishes pretty dry, and I must say, it's pretty basic and somewhat lacking in any kind of complexity

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Clear copper with an off white foam. Nice malt, caramel and hop aroma. Hop flavor through to finish with underlying malt. Not always sure what to expect with an IPhone. Very nice beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drink by 8/31/13 and poured into a "Perfect Pint" on 8/2/13.
Appearance: Looking like a beer-beer. Amber with a very, very slight haze -- nearly crystal clear. A couple fingers of a soapy, mild tan head. Decent lacing.
Smell: More than likely only because Iím being told it uses the same yeast as Dortmunder Gold, it smells a lot like that, but with a significant addition of hops. Also hay-like characteristics that make it pilsner-esque.
Taste/feel: Hm. Well, first off, the front of the tongue is a few flavors that took me awhile to put a finger on. I came to the conclusion that itís a sort of Play-Doh with alcohol. The back of the mouth is where the hops are, with a mild pine note, and sweetness plus bitterness. The taste of alcohol is there throughout the whole sip, and thereís even a touch of warmth. Being only 7.5%, I wasnít expecting to feel anything, let alone this much of it. S&G IPL has a nice body to it, with a mild carbonation. Pretty easy drinking.
Well, I donít know all of my scores off the top of my head, but this is probably my second least favorite GLB beer (Just behind -- or ahead? -- Lake Erie Monster). Itís far from a bad beer, but Iím not sure what to make of it. It smells like an IPA (and a pilsner. And Dortmunder Gold.), but it tastes of dough and alcohol. Iím strangely compelled by this one. Pretty solid, and worth trying, but I wonít exactly miss it once itís gone.
