COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our silver anniversary isn’t about gold medals. It’s about 25 years of passion and heart. Silver & Gold IPL represents our past and present, from original brewmaster Thaine Johnson’s Dortmunder Gold recipe and engineer Charlie Price’s vision for our Brewhouse to our ever-growing family of beers. Silver & Gold IPL is for our neighbors who’ve shared pints and stories, for the fans who’ve challenged us to be exceptional from day one, and for us-a bottled reminder of how far we’ve come. Brewed with a complex blend of American hops and a mixture of specialty malts, Silver & Gold IPL is bold yet well-balanced, dry yet refreshing. With respect for tradition and a nod to the future, we toast to the next 25 years.

Not as hoppy as you would think but it is malty. Thick mouthfeel and long lasting finish. Clear color and a nice 2 finger head that laced its way down the glass.

Award winning beer that came out of the gates on day one. So complex and smooth. Exceptional mix of hops and malt to create this depth. Refreshing.

Transfer from BA review on 11-28-13- Poured from growler into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with a one finger of foamy white head. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading to leave a decent level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is heaviest a bready and sweet smell of a caramel and fruity nature. Along with these aromas are some nice grapefruit and grassy hops as well as a little bit of a hay like and yeasty smell. Taste – The taste begins with a sweet and bready taste with flavors of a smooth biscuit taste mixed with a caramel and light fruitiness along with a rather strong yeasty tastes. Upfront there is a little bit of a hop taste as well being mostly of a grapefruit taste, but having hints of a floral taste as well. As the flavor advances more light hop flavors come to the tongue with some more citrus hops as well as a bit of a grassy flavor as well. At this time some grainy flavors also come to the tongue mixing with the rest to take the flavor to its end. Right at the end a very faint alcohol taste also joins the taste, leaving a rather pleasant, still rather crisp and quite flavorful flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the medium side in terms of its thickness and creaminess with a bit of a crispness and a carbonation level that is on the average side. Overall of the 7.t % strength of the brew the moderate body was quite appropriate as opposed to a thinner body more traditionally found with a lager. Overall with the crispness and moderate carbonation the feel was rather nice. Overall – A rather tasty and quite easy drinking brew. A rather nicely, moderately, hopped brew that maintains a still crisp lager taste. A very nice drinker.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass. The label lists the abv at 7.5% and there is a short description of the beer. Appearance: It has a golden honey amber color with a slight haze. This is with a small creamy off white head. The head has good retention as a keeps a thin lacy covering all the way to the finish. Smell: The aroma is mostly about its hops. There are earthy notes as well as piney and leafy hop notes with a touch of pineapple like notes as well. Taste / Palate: The taste is the same with a smooth feel and mild bitterness in the finish.

[Tap] Pours a bright golden color with a rocky white head to it. Grapefruit/hoppy nose. Grainy malts, grass and lighter bready caramel flavors. Average body, but the higher ABV is well diguised even though the beer is on the lighter side. Tasting notes from 1/2014.

Really interesting beer. It tastes like a Dortmunder Gold mixed with their Commodore Perry IPA. I love both those beers, but I like my lager to taste like a lager and my IPA to taste like an IPA. That being said, this is an exceptionally made beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, reddish pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, biscuit, bread, hints of spice, yeast, slight floral notes into a bit of orange. Taste is a mix of caramel, biscuit, bread, hints of earth, spice, grass, slight floral notes, finishing fairly bitter, dry.

Big thanks to my friend AT for this brew. Looks like a hefty lager fer sure, even a little viscous. Dull volatile thud greets the olfactory. This stuff is just as worse as a double ipa from the first taste. IPA WTF. Now IPA is infiltrating lager territory, happy bullshit. Imperial IPA fer sure this is. This is an insult to the lager lover. WEW. Oily alky happy mouthcoating bullshit. If you want an IPA double, drink it, why make lagers that taste like IPA?

Clear amber with a very large head. Aroma is skunked and hoppily noble with some funk and pale malts. Taste is noble and boring with pale malts, a touch of skunk and a mild bitter finish. Lipstick on a pig…

Copper colored with a foamy white head. Smells of sweet honey and has a bitter/hoppy grapefruit flavor.

Enjoyed on tap at Wild Monk. Served in a shaker pint. A: Pours a solid orange color with a thick white head forming on the pour. It leaves heavy coatings of lace down the glass. S: Light lager yeast profile with wheat sweetness to it. Orange citrus with a little lemon action going on as well. T: Slightly bitter with a lot of deep citrus notes. Sweet cereal grains with a twist of noble hops thrown in on the finish. Slightly yeasty. M: Super light with a hint of sweetness. Really drinkable with a medium carbonation level. O: Superbly drinkable and really flavorful. Definitely enjoyed the balance of this one.
