3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cliff (394) - Avon Lake, USA - JAN 14, 2010
On tap, poured a murky brownish with a thick off white head. Sandy sweetness in the aroma, very sweet, almost sticky. The flavor is not as sweet and malty as the aroma might suggest. Nice toffee sweetness, not over the top, but no real hops to balance it out. I didn’t get any honey out of the brew. Creamy mouthfeel, really coats the palate. Sweet finish, but not cloying.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 phaleslu (3543) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - MAY 16, 2010
Draft at Fries Cafe at the Lake Erie Monster release party, 5/15/10. 8 Great Lakes beers on tap- 5 year-rounders, Holy Moses, Lake Erie Monster, and this one. This was the only I had never heard of, and I think they actually had it listed as "Tempest Fugit", so either they had it wrong or it’s listed wrong in here. Pours a murky amber-gold-brown color with some greenish-brown tints. Weird looking, but interesting, and no head to speak of. Aroma of grass, wood, dust, honey, herbal, grassy hops, dirt, and malts- mostly pale. The flavor has the same notes, leaning more toward the malts, honey, and wood, so it’s just a tad nicer than the nose. Medium-full bodied, with low carbonation, and feels like a cask ale in the mouth- grassy. Really interesting beer.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 cking (1175) - North Canton, Ohio, USA - APR 5, 2010
"A rich amber brown body with a fluffy off white head and blanketing lacing. Aromas of baker’s spices, sweet rolls, light toast and caramel. Firm and medium bodied with a nice sweet warmth. Flavor is toasty, moderately nutty with plenty of sweet honey and holiday spices. A decent ale, although it’s a touch sweeter than I like. All in all it’s very reminiscent of a modified and less spicy GL Christmas Ale."

On tap at GLBC. Pours amberish brown with a big tan head. Nose is sweet and fruity without being candyish. Flavor is also sweet malt forward, with just enough hops on the back end to dry it out a bit. Pretty good.
