1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Keg at the brewpub. Clear deep golden, mid sized head. Light citrus aroma. Sweet with near full body and clean mouthfeel. Some syrup and citrus, but mostly just inky bitterness. Unbalanced and raw. Brutally bitter.

On tap at the brewpub. Amber colour. Fruity hoppiness, hints of apples. Very bitter. No compromise.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From 1,0l patent pended glass bottle transported by plane, than stored for 1 week in fridge. Pours cloudy amber red liquid, medium frothy tan head. Aroma: light citrus, lemon grass, orange, light malty, some pine, some candy, slightly moldy in the background, fine, but not very intensive (get intensive after warming). Taste: light sweet, medium to heavy bitter, light to medium sour, first appears mid malty body, than citruses, strong bitterness and sourness. Not very harmonious, lacks character. Palate: full body, oily texture, soft to flat carbonation, long bitter citrus finish. Overall: not bad, even if it is bit disharmonic and mild. The transport and bottling damaged the beer I assume (palate, carbonation). Curious about the taste in the pub and also about other GLB stuff.

dark ruby amber with dense white foam. Rich dank hop aroma, pretty better up front., a little soapy floral hoppiness, warming booze, a decent fist at a DIPa.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Visited Great Leap and tried 10 of their beers in samplers. All in all I was impressed and happy with the beers. Too bad I forgot pen and paper so take more serious tasting notes so my rating score is based on memory. Probably one of the favourites from great leap. After craving some hops for a long time this one does the trick.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Buddy brought a growler back from China - this beer survived the trip. This one poured a slightly cloudy orange color with a pretty thick white head. Aroma was relatively non-existent, light malts, some hops. Flavor was a lot more robust. Plenty of citrus notes, oranges - some nice malt balance. This was a lot better than I ever expected it to be. Probably won’t have another chance to try this brew - was nice I had the opportunity.

Lovely dark amber colour, with a sweet and hoppy citrus aroma. One of my favourite double IPAs, a style I’m just beginning to appreciate.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A great double IPA on tap at Great Leap Beijing. Amber colour with a nice creamy head. Some sweetness here, not crazy bitter, but quite flavourful.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy burnt orange with thick lasting head. Aroma of orange blossom, jasmine flower, orange essence, and passionfruit. Rich bitter finish lingers with orange and chocolate-orange with the solid malt character. Brilliant bitter finish. One of their best brews.
