3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Visited Great Leap and tried 10 of their beers in samplers. All in all I was impressed and happy with the beers. Too bad I forgot pen and paper so take more serious tasting notes so my rating score is based on memory.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This was served warm, which was unusual for me, but the flavours and aroma of citurs and sweet malts was great. Great beer!

Asiaís best IPA? On tap at Great Leap in Beijing. Amber colour, creamy texture, bitter with some caramel notes. Nice.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark orange colored, hazy appearance. Little yellow head. Grassy bitter, fruity aroma with some herbal touch, thin yeasty note here as well. Medium bodied. Flavor is grassy as well with some orange-peachy fruitiness, yeast and dry grass still in aftertaste.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy tan. The head is somewhat thick. The aroma has some nice hoips (minty, citrusy). There are minty, orangey notes on the palate. Itís a little bit sticky and has some yeastyness as well. The finish is quite stick with decent hop resin. I had a couple of different batches and found the latter to be a little more expressive in hop character.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at the brewpub from a few different batches, and the recipe had changed. It got better, the hops more assertive and more American in flavor. Itís a dark orange color, varies from being hazy to murky, but always with a stable tan head and lacing. Big American hop aroma and a soft palate. The malts lend a good amount of sugars for balance, and are sturdy. Hop oils are rich, adding fine bitterness. Can be quite yeasty for an IPA but the higher ABV keeps it dry and quaffable. Every so often a slight hint of butter peeks through in an innocuous way. One of my go-to GLBs.
