tombyars (1486) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JUL 14, 2015
Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) on the 20th June 2015. Cask, handpump dispense. Opaque dark amber in colour with a thin white head. Fruity green apple noted in the short hoppy aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt lends a digestive biscuit base with notes of green apple and gooseberry fruit. Slight hoppy aftertaste gives a lingering resiny note in the palate. Hops noted in the dry finish with hints of weak fruit just about detectable. A poor session bitter.

Cask at the Hanilton Hall, JDW - London. Pours clear gold with a lasting, creamy white head. The nose holds bready male, some ripening citrus fruits, flourishes of berries. Light-medium sweet flavor with relaxed leafy bitterness some dried grains, leathery berries. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Nicely balanced finish with further bready malt sugars, lightly bitter leaves, mellow fruits. An altogether acceptable bitter.

The_Osprey (3507) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 28, 2015
Cask at Railway, Putney. Dark amber, still, pretty clear, small foamy white head, full lacing. Aroma is toned down, musty cupboard. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is soft bready malt, twiggy, woody liquorice stick (the twiggy ones you get from health shops), gluey, bitterness builds over time, ashy aftertaste. A decent bitter.

Cask at JDWs in Surbiton. Fairly generic but pleasant bitter, malt dominates with a hint of caramel but some earthy hop to balance. Nice enough session beer.
