Commercial Description:
Going to the Sun is an American style Pale Ale which has a nice balance between malt and hops. We dry hop this beer to bring out a citrus aroma. 33 IBU’s

On tap at the brewery in Whitefish. Pale yellow, foamy white head. Perfumey resinous hop aroma, but faint (perhaps due to temperature).Sweet grainy entry, reedy bittering hop character. Just okay for me.

On draught at the brewpub in Whitefish, Montana. Pours a light clear golden pale brew with an average white head that quickly dissolves to a fine film and spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, bubblegum, sugar candi and some citrusy hops. Taste is slightly sweet, medium bodied, light carbonation with a roasted caramel malt flavor. Finish is light, crisp and clean with no bitterness. A very good thirst quencher. The menu board lists this as an IPA. Definitely not a West Coast IPA style beer but more as a light American Pale Ale.

Draft 6 oz’er at the taproom. Light amber and very active. Hardly much of an aroma. Gristy and grainy, with a light citrus affect. Flat. They had this written down as an IPA on their board, so I was perplexed. Still not sure this fits in the APA category, it’s bordering on an American wheat. (#2861, 5/12/2007)

Deep orange in color with light head. Orange notes with hint of roast on the nose. Nice and hoppy up front then a nice malty finish.
