Lovely dark stout, spongy beige head - nice! Lovely rich roast aroma. Body full, and very roasty, but with no astringency. Classic English stout, very drinkable.

Cask at GBBF 2011. Black color. Roasty aroma with coffee. Sweet smooth roasty flavor with coffee, licorice, toffee, nuts, chocolate and hint of charcoal in finish. Nice smooth stout, could be more bitter.

Cask at GBBF 2011, Day 3. Pours rich black with a bubbly, tan head. Cocoa and roasted malt aroma. Medium sweet flavor, notes of milk chocolate, good roasted malts. Slight lactic sugars. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Great, balanced finish, mild burnt sugar, roasty malts. Suberb stuff. Very well done.

Clear dark black colour with vitually none head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate, tar, licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to creamy, carbonation is flat. [20110803]

Cask@GBBF2011. Pitch black colour, small head. Aromai s roasted malts, some wood, mild soap, syrup and some raisins. Also some mild ashy/smoky chimney notes. Flavour is roasted malts, some dark fruits, wood, earth and mild liquorice and smoke as well.
