Cask at The Anchor, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark chestnut brown with a bubbly off-white head. The aroma is hugely fruity. The flavour is medium bitter, rich, with red berries and some dry spicy hoppiness on the palate. A real winter warmer if I ever tasted one. It has bags of complex flavours and really deserves a top rating.

Cask, Criterion, Leicester. Copper with an off white foam. Aromas are toffee with nutty notes and grapefruit. Weetabix with festive spices and raisins. Flavours are sweet toffee with bitter lemon and grapefruit with yeast and peppery spices. Herbal with toasted notes and spiced, earthy apple. Very nice.

Cask conditioned at The Lamb & Flag, Oxford. Copper with white head. There is a fuller flavour to this, quite chocolatey and fruity, some graininess and a roasty maltiness. Lasting on the palate whilst remaining quite drinkable. Good.

Cask conditioned handpump Old Bank Northampton 04/12/12. Darker than copper with a whitish head. A good malty Wintery beer. Hints of Christmas spicing Cakey fruits. Rich chocolate. Quite boozy. Pretty tasty.
