A Mes rate: cask handpull at the Pembury Tavern. Semi hazy orange brown with a thin white film on top. Ooh a tiny hint of condition. Way to go Pembury. Huge grapefruit hop on the nose. Not much else happening but at least there are hops. Good ones too. Faint odd meaty note in the flavour that is not helping anything but the grapefruit hops and pale biscuity malt go together really well. Actually I think the meaty note is something that happens somewhere between the malt and hops which is a shame seeing as they balance nicely. More grapefruit in the finish but then some more oily meat. Finally settling on a pleasant citric bitterness thank god. Almost really good... Sadly it’s not.

Cask@Loughborough Beer Festival, 2010. Amber beer with a light head. The aroma is gently hopped and burnt, and the flavour is rum/molasses like with a bitter finish. Overall a disappointing and slightly strange tasting beer.
