3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jmohno (831) - Iowa, USA - SEP 2, 2012UPDATED: SEP 15, 2012 Odd this taste different than last year..Its a bourbon sour like.
Its a bit less attractive as well with a lighter amber as oposed to a nice rich copper.Seems sour but with carmel ,lighter than the rich or maltyness i remembered.Seems barrell aged to me,its different this time.Orange tart slight sourness is pretty dominant overall.Loved it last year.Swear this seems barrell aged. Curious if this has wheat because it almost seems like that also. It remindes me of an experience with a two brothers beer as well. I know they use oak often. But that was an isolated kind of tartness as well.Hmm.

Copperish color. Aroma is buttery, caramelly and hoppy. Weird to say the least. Without the butter flavor we might have a winner. But hops, butter and caramel malt dont make for too good a beer.

16oz can. orangey/copper color, clear and a bit fizzy. thin almond-colored head. aroma is bright with grassy notes and bready malts. flavor has a decent earthiness and a balanced malt and hop profile. notes of caramel in the finish and aftertaste. simple but a bit better than I expected.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 drpimento (1936) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 27, 2011
Got this at our hotel up the street from the GRB. Poured with an average sized, thick, creamy, long lasting, light tan colored head and good lace. Color is a clear medium amber with lots of bubble trails. Aroma is malt, caramel, a little hops. Flavor is similar with bitterness up front yielding to a touch of sweetness in the fin. Body is good and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor and has about average length for a beer of this style.. Not a bad brew. I’m looking forward to the 483 PA.

Can. Light orange pour, lasting good carbonation and an aroma of light fruity hops. Flavor is bitter metaillic caramel, some sweet nuts and a little vegetal on the aftertaste. Not bad.

Malts and bread in the aroma while the appearance is gold-orange. The flavor is slightly spicy, malty and a hint of cookies. I’m not sure on the style of this, its sort of hard to describe, but a decent ale none the less.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 drowland (4994) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - JUN 13, 2011
6/13/11. On tap at the Bier Stube in Moline, IL. The aroma is huge butterscotchy diacetyl... with a touch of bitter malt and hop in there. Slightly better flavor that hits a touch better than the aroma. Decent roasted malt presence with caramel and a slight earthy hop presence, but the diacetyl kills it. Bleh.
