3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the Beer House Chicago in Lombard, IL. as a 5 oz. serving dispensed to a flight/fest glass, displaying a clear, golden color, with a frothy layer of soft white head foam, and good cling to the wavy ribbons of lacing. The nose was chocolate syrup, with candy sweetness, a bit of perfumey spiciness, and a slight hint of mint. Light+ bodied aided by spritzy carbonation, the taste added a modest, earthy bitterness that dried a bit on the finish. Unusual chocolate notes, but fairly sessionable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can, poured into a tulip at ~40 degrees F.
Appearance: Pours a quite hazy amber-gold, which looks similar to clover honey that has crystallized solid. Forms a thick white head which vanishes without a trace in short order. No lacing.
Smell: Somewhat akin to opening a chocolate bar under oneís nose while standing in a wheaty, grassy prairie in the springtime. Thereís a hint of sweetness, and pollen.
Taste: This opens with a wheaten-grassy blonde ale flavor profile, which is joined by an ever-increasing taste of milk chocolate starting in the middle and growing in strength to the finish. By the end, the chocolate has shifted to darker chocolate, and combines with a grassy sort of bitterness, leaving an aftertaste that mingles the two.
Mouthfeel: Pretty thin and light, with a finish bordering on watery.
Overall: Not a bad beer. Also not anything particularly amazing. I may repeat it when in and around Iowa.

[Can] Deep golden pour with a soda-like head. Nose is of imitation chocolate and grains. Flavors of cocoa powder, cereal grains and minerals. Harsh carbonation. Not very clean in the taste department. Detecting some off-flavors as it warms.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at brewery, honestly, kind of a cool idea, but it just didnít come out right for me, maybe make this a one off and not can it? Pours a clear gold with no head at all, the aroma has a ton of artificial vanilla and a hint of chocolate as well, the flavor has a huge chocolate like front end with a sweet finish, just doesnít work for me.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Dirty Blonde isnít as sexy as it thinks. Thatís not to say that itís bad. Itís not. A chocolate-infused Blond Ale is a bold idea and the execution is respectable. Still, I wasnít convinced. Smell is sweet (mostly malt and a hint of bittersweet chocolate) but slight. Appearance is just okay - Iíd like more head and and a cleaner body. I was torn when it came to the chocolaty flavor. At times, I liked the sweetness. At other times, I thought the chocolate syrup taste was a little too much. While Iím caught in the middle on this beer, I suspect that most drinkers will either love it or hate it.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours a lightly hazy blonde with a big fluffy white head and decent lacing on the glass.
The aroma is yeasty with lots of husky maltiness and a faintest whiff of chocolate.
The chocolate flavor is neat, decidedly forward but not overwhelming. The beer is never awfully sweet but the chocolate character hints more at a sweet than bitter chocolate. The beer has a little bit of harsh bitterness that seems derived from the malt more than anything. The malt is husky & the beer is a touch metallic.
Decidedly not bad tasting.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can from 6 pack I brought back from the Quad Cities. Poured a lightly tinted, clear golden color with a small, fizzy off-white head. Aroma was mostly just light toasted malts, but as it warmed up from the fridge, there was an ever increasing note of chocolate (like cocoa powder) that I began to notice. Flavor was very light initially, but finish is a blast of light milk chocolate notes - a bit like melted Cadbury or something similar. Pretty easy to drink - not as crazy chocolate as I was expecting, but it was pretty enjoyable. I donít know, I liked it at least.
