16 ounce can thanks to Ed! Pours a wonderful jet black hue with a medium thick brown head. The aroma is heavy sweet coffee. A nice flavor of rich sweet coffee, light chalk, some dark fruit, pretty dry, quite drinkable. Nice.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Poured into a snifter.
4.0 A: Black color. Two and a half fingers of frothy/foamy tan head. Retention is very good for a coffee beer.
3.5 S: Rich roastiness in here. The coffee added must have a huge hand in this. Bittersweet chocolate and not overbearing amounts of coffee.
2.5 T: The strongest flavor in the taste is a tangy, somewhat acrid old coffee. It trumps the roastiness which is second. Hints of caramel and chocolate under that. It’s not horrible, but I’m not a fan.
4.0 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Thick, viscous feeling without a lot of creaminess. Good here for a coffee beer.
3.0 D: The coffee really wasn’t well integrated into this one. If it was, I think I would have enjoyed it a lot.

the best of both worlds! the coffee flavor in this beer is so strong almost overpowering but in a good way. good body not extreamly thick but still thick enough for a stout . has a good creamy texture apparent. anyone who loves coffee and beer has to try this!! best coffee beer i’ve had yet!

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 16oz can into an imperial pint glass:
Pours a near pitch black, like a fresh cup of Kona with two to three fingers of big soft light brown head. Nice lacing.
FRESH coffee, I’ve never experienced this from a beer but this coffee smells fresh from the grinder. Some caramel, milk chocolate, cocoa powder, subtle nut notes.
They really nail the coffee flavors but I think it stuns the other nice stout characteristics. Really good for what it is though and that is a coffee beer. I can definitely see myself craving one of these in the future. Would be the perfect breakfast beer for camping.
Feel is too thin in my opinion. It works fine but it could get beefed up a bit I think.
Really solid offering from Great River Brewery. I look forward to trying their other stuff.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep dark pour with a dark brown head. Aroma is coffee and roasted malt. Taste is dry, well balanced between the stout and the coffee flavor. Dry lasting aftertaste. Low carbonation. Goes down to easy.

Can pours a thick black with 1.5 inch thick chocolate colored head. Aroma mainly coffee.. Taste nice blend of coffee and roast with some chocolate creeping in. Palate creamy with great mouthfeel. Finish bitter and roasty. Alcohol not noticeable
This is easily available in my area and I could see this becoming a go-to beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pint can from Friar Tuck-Springfield. Finally an Iowa tick. Pours near black with one finger dark tan head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, and a touch of caramel. Flavors of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and some sweetness. Finishes dry with a creamy mouthfeel. Nice coffee flavor, but is nicely balanced with the roasted malts. Very nice stout and a nice surprise.

16 oz can poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of coffee, roastiness, bakers cocoa, earthines and molasses. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, bitter chocolate, roastiness and light licorice with a smooth lingering roasty coffee finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a very dark/opaque brown with frothy dark tan tinged head that dissipates to a thin coating. Aroma smells of cut wood, roasted coffee beans, raisin and oats. Body is creamy with light carbonation.
