We love our local roaster’s New Orleans Iced Coffee so much we decided to use their beans in our brew. Redband Stout is made with Indonesian and Ethiopian beans using our 18-hour cold brew extraction method, resulting in a satisfying brew with intense coffee aromatics. The marriage of two of our favorite beverages.

Thanks to pepsiedcan for this. Black in color with a khaki head. Roasted malt, coffee, and a light chocolate aroma. Light metallic note, some toffee sweetness, very light nuttiness, and a hint of smoke. Flavor is mostly roasted malt and coffee. Some cocoa, molasses, toffee, and nuts. Very mild smokiness and a slight acidity and metallic character.

Can thanks to Jcwattsrugger. Pours black with tan head. Nose and taste of freshly brewed coffee, roasted chocolate malt and vanilla bean. Simple but delicious. Body on the lighter side of medium. Lots of fresh coffee roast in finish.

Can thanks to Guerde! Pours very brown/black with a creamy dark tan head. My but there’s a strong coffee aroma. Full bodied. Flavor is very coffee, very chicory? herby? something veg, with a lot of dark burnt malt, and I think a subtle hint of chocolate. Anyway there is something that suggests a strong green plant aspect. This is bound to get your attention. Startlingly good.

16 oz can poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of coffee, roastiness, bakers cocoa, earthines and molasses. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, bitter chocolate, roastiness and light licorice with a smooth lingering roasty coffee finish.

THis one is a robust super coffee-driven stout. Not usually a huge fan of these but this one is good.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2012 On tap @ Great River Iowa City. Dark black appearance with a brown head. Black coffee light milky stout aroma. Thicker mouthfeel than the milk stout but the coffee overly bitters the beer. Rich milk chocolate, coffee, espresso, a touch acidic, fruity flavor. Roasty aftertaste.

16oz can thanks to pepsiedcan. The pour is near ink with a larger, sheen, mocha head. Nice retention and small lacing. Nose is spicy peppers and chili bowl. A bit vegetal. Taste is watery, soapy, small olives, salt, brine. Palate is bland, minerally, weak.
