Can thanks to Guerde! Pours very brown/black with a creamy dark tan head. My but there’s a strong coffee aroma. Full bodied. Flavor is very coffee, very chicory? herby? something veg, with a lot of dark burnt malt, and I think a subtle hint of chocolate. Anyway there is something that suggests a strong green plant aspect. This is bound to get your attention. Startlingly good.

Light metallic note, some toffee sweetness, very light nuttiness, and a hint of smoke. Flavor is mostly roasted malt and coffee. Some cocoa, molasses, toffee, and nuts. Very mild smokiness and a slight acidity and metallic character.

Pint can. Poured dark brown with a short-ish lived toasted coconut head. The aroma picked up sweet, very enticing coffee and lesser mocha notes, with light earthy and herbal accents.. loved it! The flavor found similar stuff.. tasty, moderately-roasted coffee throughout, with touches of coffee, tobacco, and earth too.. greener coffee beans around the edges.. finished with nice balance and plenty more tasty coffee. Medium-bodied at most on the palate, with just enough carbonation.. very good feel and flow.. great beer!

UPDATED: APR 15, 2012 On tap @ Great River Iowa City. Dark black appearance with a brown head. Black coffee light milky stout aroma. Thicker mouthfeel than the milk stout but the coffee overly bitters the beer. Rich milk chocolate, coffee, espresso, a touch acidic, fruity flavor. Roasty aftertaste.
