Pint can. Poured light-medium coppery-amber with a nice cap of beige head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet, toasted bread and nutty (almond) notes with light grass and herbal accents.. simple and clean. The flavor found semi-sweet caramel and bready notes at the core, with peppery and herbal notes around.. finished dry and a touch grainy. Lighter-bodied and a little tacky on the palate.. easy-drinking overall, but not great.

16 oz can purchased as a single at Beer Crazy in Urbandale, Iowa. The pour is a mostly clear golden orange with a 1 inch head that falls fast. The aroma is chemical grain malt along with some sort of weird floral. The taste is a not real fresh cracker malt along with the weird floral dry pepper spice of the nose. The palate is medium to light bodied with harsh carbonation and a dirty finish.

Pours a clear reddish color with off-white head. Caramel, malt, pepper, and some hop resin on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a little more malt.

Iíve had this on tap at the Riverhouse in Moline with dirty tap lines or something creating an aftertaste. This review is from the pint can out of the 8 pack assortment bought at the Rock Island HyVee. It poured with a medium red amber hue and a short lived white head. The initial nose and taste is of a caramel like and slightly nutty nature. It gets a little bit sugar-chocolate like in the middle, but not overdone. It finishes with a slightly spruce like hop profile, cancelling out the slight yeast leftover in the middle. Very good, and very sessionable.

big xo thanks to pepsican for tossing me this cred-packed rew. simple straightforward moderately sweet caramel with a grapedrank twang. an old woodsy vegetal note. bit of old grapes and raisin. not overly sweet. not really offensive, just not particularly memorable. seems more like a session barley wine than anything, which seem to be all the rage these days. may be a shelf beer for all i know.

On tap at the brewery. Amber, dark orange and clear appearance. Mild aroma of pale malts, bread, light spicy hops, caramel, black pepper and toffee. Similar flavor, mildly sweet and lightly bitter. Average body, easy to drink.

Can via box via FedEx. Nose is a weird sweet-ish, reddish, blah aroma. Iím drinking from the can so tough to pick out what is there, but there is something that reminds me of wet dog hair. Taste is initially sweet, then a hint of roast, then some peppery hop flavor. Usually a roasted grain helps dry a beer out but it stays sweet though the finish, then just falls off into no where. Well, Iíve had worse beers. Nothing indicates any faults or flaws (besides recipe). Just very forgettable. But I guess most reds are. Would like to see something more. Maybe some more yeast character, fruitiness or something. I mean, if I were at a restaurant and they had macro lager or this, Iíd drink this, but Iím not gonna rush out and buy any more.

Pour is a clear red with a average white head. Aroma is not much else than some sweet malt. Flavor is a little better but not great. Decent malt but no hops or earthiness like you usually get in this style. Finish is bland and watery. Nothing special here.

Ruby red with off white head. Good malty smell and taste. Slight herbal hops in the finish. Medium body and watery finish. Hops build up over time and start to over power the malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
