COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This whale of a brew begins with a huge grain bill, consisting of American two-row malted barley. Plenty of the finest American-grown hops are then introduced at every stage of the brewing process. Massive additions of hops in the boil kettle produce a smooth yet assertive finish.

I have been drinking this beer for a few years now and it has only gotten better, it is a great example of an IPA done right. Lots of Pine, resin, grapefruit, citrus. But even with all of these hops you still get a nice malt backbone. If you like this then look for it’s bigger brother, Hopocratic.

Approximately 2 ounce sample at the Brewery tasting room in Bay Shore, New York. The pour is a slightly hazy orange golden. The aroma is dry grassy resin, with light honey and some nice pine all balanced against caramel malt. Fresh nose. The taste follows the nose, nice fresh hops (grass, resin, light honey, pine) balanced against a clean caramel toast malt. The palate is medium bodied, clean dry finish. Of the beers I sampled here, I liked this and the Saison the best.

Draft. Pours golden amber with an off white head. Big piney hop aroma with grapefruit and sweet malts. The flavor has floral and piney hops, some nice bitterness, and light sweet malts. Pretty good.

Tap - Hazy golden pour with thin white head. Massive pine and sticky caramel malts. Some old shoe leather at the end, but still has a really nice hop profile and an expert graininess. Soft bodied and freshtastic.

On tap at The Good Life. Pours lightly hazed golden light orange with samll white head. Aromas of citrus, sweet malts, and some caramel. Flavors of citrus, sweet malts, caramel, and some bread and hop bitterness. Not really the dank IPA you look for. Kinda meh for an IPA.

Pouring at TAP NY. Pours a clear golden amber with a thin white head. Big and full of citrus, but still very subtle. Medium bodied, cool and clean. Malty, smooth and toasty. Citrus and earth, long grapefruit and toast on the finish.
