Backlog: On draught during the Winterfest 2009 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thin beige head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of tropical fruit, toasted dark malt, a touch of apricot, and chocolate. Taste is medium bodied, a smooth with flavors of tropical fruit, a hint of apricot/passion fruit and toasted dark malt. Finish is smooth, creamy with a nice semi-sweet flavor of tropical fruit and toasted dark malt aftertaste.

Winterfest 2009 (St. Paul, MN). Gotta give props to Great Waters for making an original beer, but this for me was nearly undrinkable. Passion fruit was present but the mixture of it with a stout just wasn’t a good one. A little undercarbonated as well.

Very much a fruit beer. Tons of sweet fruit in the aroma and flavor, citrus, a little pineapple, mango. Sweet fruit flavor, and medium palate. Maybe the best beer I have had from Great Waters, and one of the highlights of the Winterfest 2009.
