On-cask at the brewpub: Unfiltered hazy dark yellow. Small dense capping of white froth that keeps well. Lacing is spotty with a few stringy strands. Aroma is a bit light, but clean and pleasant with a nice Pilsner malt snap thats kinda like some wet crackers and a bit of musty grassyness. Taste is pretty decent. Rounded Pils malt tone thats tenderly bready with a bit of leanness to it thats of baked crackers. Nice addtions of hops that are flakey and dryish with a small dose of grassy herbalness. Keeps a nice frimness of Pils malt all throughout each sip and or gulp. Well rounded, crisp, smooth body, and lightly feathery in texture from the cask. Mediumish body with a snappy grab within each sip. Floating dry finish of Pils malt flavors and a bit of herbal hopping notes. A very nice drinker. Notes on the recipe state something along the lines that it followed the old Schmidt lager with an addition to an extra Pils malt added to it.
