Lightly roasted malt . A little grain. Thin palate. Not much flavor. Looking at the description, I should have loved this. Something must have gone wrong. Great idea, try it again. Alcohol well hidden, but I don’t pick up any Belgian yeast.

Pours a very cloudy nutty brown with thick cream-colored head. Aroma is a very sweet nut with vanilla undertones and herbs. Flavor is mild chocolate, nut and malts. Palate is light.

On draught during the Autumn Brew Review in Minneapolis, MN. Pours a hazy dark cola brown colored brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma is quite complex with scents of toasted dark malts, toffee, some coriander, chocolate and candi sugar. Taste is full bodied, thin carbonation, with flavors of caramel and chocolate malt, some coriander, a hint of black licorice and candi sugar. Finish is quite sweet, some alcohol warmth and aftertaste of chocolate, coriander and some fruit. A pretty decent Belgian strong ale without any train wreck disaster.
