<Cask.</> Dark copper color with a medium head. Buttery aroma with a moderate dosage of peat. The taste is dominated by butterscotch and a buttery finish. Peat smoke fades a lot. Slight caramel.

Pours very hazy and thick with a vibrant red-orange hue. Topped with a perfect, thick, milky, staying raft of bubbly cream. Aroma is very sweet; buttery toffee, butterscotch, caramel, and cinnamon sugar, with lots of overripe red and orange fruit. Raspberry and tangerine. Flavor is laid back and quite dry; full of crisp, earthy nutty sweetness and calm bitterness. Pecan, candied almond, maple syrup, and red apple peel. Doughy mid palate of french toast and maple. Palate is creamy and medium bodied, with a bit of a bite. Finishes with a watery sweetness and a reticent touch of cool spiciness. Might be a bit underattenuated throughout, but given this very sweet style it isn’t easy to differentiate; most definitely, these layers of earthy sweetness and savory grains are just bursting with the potential for Great Waters’ fine cask treatment, and hopefully it will be offered as such in the near future. Altogether this is a great spring offering, carrying a refreshing crisp character in stride with the rich depth of malt needed in cooler months. A real winner.
