2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
I think of a pale lager when I drink this...not pale ale, so I will rate it as such. Faint aroma of grains...sweet toasty grains up front with a mild bitter finish. Pretty good.

On tap. Pretty disappointing. Malty and sweet, a but of an oaky flavour. Very little hops. Meh.

On tap at Tony Roma’s, Banff. Pale clear yellow pour with a small white head that is quickly gone. Nose is corn and light malts and taste is basically the same. Light mouth with soft carbonatio, Meh.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Very light, typical lager. Best drank really cold. Crisp finish with a very light hop flavour.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Inoffensive but bland. The only saving graces are some nice grain taste and a hint of bitter in the finish.

33 cl bottle, Calgary, AB, Canada. Very pale yellow, no head. Slight citrus pepper aroma though very faint. Tastes of corn. Not offensive but not great.

355 ml can from a split twelve-pack (with their Copper Ale) from Sobeys Liquor, served in an MLP Rainbow Dash pint glass. Pours a bright golden straw hue, moderately carbonated, with a fine white head that lingers a few moments, then recedes to leave one lone lace ring. Aroma is sweet grains and faint hints of sour corn and green apple; flavor is moderately sweet cereals with a vague whiff of grassy hops and a dusty staleness.. Thin-bodied, with a generally clean finish, although the corn hangs in there briefly. Very reminiscent of Alexander Keith’s - it’s just a rather ordinary lager that calls itself a pale ale, although Original 16’s seems a little more ale-like. There are plenty of pale and light beers that can take its place with ease. A mundane, slightly unappealing brew.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Had this for free at an event. Was a decent value. Clear golden, very light caramel malt aroma. Flavour is light and inoffensive, but ultimately pointless.

Big Rock Grasshopper-esque. Nice and grassy and refreshing. Summery beer, but summer isn’t long in Canada

(On tap) Pours a clear straw yellow with one finger of loose white diminishing rapidly to a thin skim and moderate lacing. Nose is sweet malt and adjuncts. Taste follows suit, with maybe just a hint of citrus. Mouth feel is light and fizzy.
There is no way this is an APA. This is a boring macro adjunct lager. Which, don’t get me wrong, is fine for lunch with a client, but it’s not even in the same neighbourhood as what I was expecting.
