downender (4389) - Bristol, - DEC 7, 2010
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2011 Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 7/12/10. Reddish amber in colour with a decent, off-white head. Fruity malt aroma with a hint of spice. Red fruit flavours, with some earthy malts and decent bitter finish. Ok. Re-rate at the brewery tap, the Rising Sun, Frampton Cotterell, South Gloucestershire 31/12/10. Mahogany on this occasion, with a decent off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel, nuts and berry fruit. Flavour was also sweet, with plenty of fruit and a slight roasted edge, before a decent bitter finish. Very different and better from the first pint sampled, did JDW (not for the first time) mix up the pump clips?
