Cask-conditioned at the Rising Sun, Frampton Cotterell, S Gloucs 5/3/08. This was the first commercial brew from this new supplier. Deep copper coloured with a moderate white head that left plenty of lacing. Aroma of red fruit and savoury malt. The flavour was pretty bitter, with some chewy malt and an earthy hop finish. Ok.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Golden amber with a loose cream head; floral aroma - perhaps a dash of elderflower? - dry, biscuity malt flavour; and a clean, lightly bitter finish. Fairly average, but a pleasant pint.

Cask by handpump at Counting House, Glasgow (21 Apr 12) - clear dark amber ale, bubbly white head, good temperature, no detectable aroma, caramel malt, high carbonation, easy to drink

Malty with a weak texture, mostly bitterness than anything else. Maybe a bad barrel.

Cask handpull at County Hotel Spoons Ashford. Guy behind the bar said "are all these ales different?" i said yeah. He said but if they are both pale how can you tell tge difference? It was a longish chat where i explained malts hops yeast and water. Crazy. Mid dark amber colour lasting beige head. Its a pretty decent session bitter to be honest. Some light biscuit touch of hedgerow fruit. Pretty drinkable and decent

Got it in "Rising Sun" in Frampton Cotterell Dark pour, thin head, nice character Feels a tad watery perhaps, but overall very nice.

Bottled, 500ml fro Favourite beers, Cheltenham, Gloucs. Still amber brown with little head. Virtually no aroma apart from a vague beery note and virtually no flavours either, perhaps the first virtual beer? You can feel the liquid going down, you get the concept of beer, but it just passes through without affecting any of the emotions on the way. Boring.

Cask, Carlisle BF. Initially sweet and soft, but a bitterness creeps in, especially in the roof of the mouth. Pear drops aroma, nicely rounded, mid brown appearance.

From a hand pump cask at the Old Bell Hotel pub in Malmsbury, England this came a clear rich amber color with a tiny white head and very heavy lacing rings as I consumed it. Nose of malt and ripe fruit. Medium body and that very smooth mouthfeel so typical of case pours. Flavor is malty, with a delightful bitterness the continues over into the bitter floral hop finish. Very nice brew.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Leicester BF. A golden orange coloured beer. The aroma has some apply notes and some boozy fruit. The taste has some hops but there’s a sweet fruity winey note. Some harsh off-putting fruits. Not for me.
