Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, day 3 on 2 December 2010. Reddish colour. Dryish on the palate. Some soft fruit with a moderate ration of slightly tangy hops. Perfectly acceptable but seemed a little timid for a strong bitter.

Clear medium to dark brown amber colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, malty, nutty - mold - fusty notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20101202]

Pigs Ear. Hazy brown beer, no head. No carbonation. Dry palate. Medium malt with mildly tangy orange marmalade. A bit dry but okay.

Gravity, Cask at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks’ 16-11-09 Pours chestnut in colour with a loose filmy off-white head. There is mainly malt and a slight creamy sweetness on the nose. Quite full bodied beer with solid malty backbone, hops not quite as zappy as I expected, touch fruity. pleasant stuff. A6 A4 F7 P3 Ov14 3.4

Cask-conditioned at the brewery tap, the Rising Sun, Frampton Cotterell, S Gloucestershire 25/11/08. Copper coloured with a slight, off-white head that left plenty of lacing down the glass. fruity malt aroma with some earthy hops. Flavour started sweetish, with plenty of malt before some orange, citrus hops became noticeable, leading to a decent bitter finish. Good stuff.
