3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 stefannilssons (323) - SWEDEN - MAY 13, 2012

Bottle courtesy of Nisse666 shared @ Ekstedts bock-tasting. Pours hazy reddish brown with a small white head that doesn’t leave much trace while dissipating. Smell is sweet and malty with bread, hints of caramel and a weird chemical, almost chlorine like smell. Taste sweet and tiny sour with bread, prunes, raisins, caraway, red berries, grapes and wood. Mouthfeel is tiny tart and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and tart with bread and green grapes. Possibly infected…

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Bierkrug (1666) - Idar-Oberstein (In East Africa), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - SEP 30, 2011
330 ml bottle in Germany sent from omhper from Sweden. Thanks much by the way. Pours a hazy red-brown amber color with a small beige head that is quick to go. Aroma is sweet, malts, berries, and lots plums and raisins. Taste is underwhelming at first, quite sweet with no indication of alcohol. Then comes heavy raisins, caramel, weak roastiness, berries and a light spicyness. A nice brew from the north.
