Lunator är en dubbelbock som bryggmästaren sätter under årets första fullmåne. Ölet jäser i lugn takt och tappas lagom till våren. Lunator har välbalanserad fyllighet med tydlig eftersmak av malt och humletoner. Servera gärna ölet i cognacskupa.

Rye and caramel aroma. Malty caramel flavour. Quite full but still a bit refreshing. Grows as you get into it. A bit of sourness lifts it up nicely.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2008 Lunator 08 Pours a big light yellow head. Aroma is full of alcohol, caramel almost winelike with hints of malt but little hops. flavour is warming, heavy and with notes of honey and with a little biterness at the end. the mouthfeel is a bit flat. but all in all a very drinkable doppelbock.

Bottle. Large creamy off-white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Cloudy amber – brownish color. Lovely aroma of rye bread, caramel, grain, mild alcohol, fruity, spicy, nutty. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and mild alcoholic and thick texture. Moderated sweet malty flavor with some counter bitterness. Nice rye bread lingering finish. Quite nice Doppelbock!

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2012 Low carbonation when opening the bottle. Thick and solid foam that lingers. Big smell of malt mostly caramell malt. A full bodied very well balansed doppelbock. Low bitterness and just plesant. (8,3,7,3,16) Bottle at SBWF 2009, from 2008. Small head with a nice amber color. The caramell aroma is plesent and it also dominates the taste. The beer has aged fina and have some port like aromas. Big body with nice rest sweetness. (8,3,8,5,16) Bottle at private sampling Oct 2011. No head. Meaty aroma with a tuch of malt. Semi sweet malty taste with a litle low bitterness that don’t quite balance the body and malts. Have been better.

Bottle, Stockholm, Sweden. A bungundy colored beer with a full head of good density. Looks great, but does not appear to be bottle conditioned. Sparse aromas show some malt (husk, grain, caramel) and perhaps a touch of honey fruit and herbaceous hops. Flavor is malty sweet, with some hints of caramel and toffee. An ok beer, but lacking malt depth and body.

Courtesy hopscotch. POurs crystal clear mahogany, with a small white head. Smells of sweet malts, some dark fruits, and mild Belgian candy sugar. Subtle overall. The flavor is more bold, with big sweet dark fruits flowing throughout the palate. Some sweet malts left a profound bitterness in the finish. Very Belgian in its characters seemingly. Perhaps a touch too bitter, but definitely a drinkable brew.

Bottle... Clear copper lager with a small, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. Vinous notes, dark fruits and roasted nuts merge to assemble the rich aroma. Full-bodied and creamy with reticent carbonation. Sweet toffee and butterscotch. Lightly chocolaty. Bittersweet, vinous finish. Kudos to Marsiblursi for floating this brew across the pond!

Bottle, vintage 2007. Pours an reddish orange-brown colour with an off white head. Candy sugar, dried fruits, caramel and golden syrup on the nose. Nice! Flavour has some fruity sweetness and notes of roasted caramel. You don’t feel the alcohol. The finish is dry with a woody bitterness. A bit too thin. The aroma was superior to the flavour.
