Bottle shared by maxxdaddy. Deep amber beer, creamy head. Aroma is kind of herbal and spicy. A bit fruity and lightly sweet. Caramelly and sweet with a lightly oxidized character. A bit of sherryish sweetness over a deep rich maltiness. Chewy and a little bit fruity.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dickinsonbeer (5077) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 17, 2008
Thanks to Maxxdaddy for sharing. 12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep orange with a slight foamy diminishing head. I get a lot of salty oxidation- good amoutns of sherry ox, and some ok wierd salty sweetness in the aroma. Flavor is also salty, oxidized and a bit meaty with a slick sweetness, and a dull drying toastines in the end. Either not good, or just past its prime (by quite a bit).
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 PilsnerPeter (2958) - Flushing, New York, USA - DEC 17, 2008
Bottle shared by Maxxdaddy. Deep copper-amber pour, slightly hazy. Thick malt aroma- yet it is a bit oxidized. Some odd plasticy phenols with a hint of smoke. Flavor is a bit oxidized as well. It does have a touch of smoke as well as gritty cocoa- papery, with a sweet maple suggestion. Finish is mildly bitter. Seems oxidized overall, a bit off.

Bottle shared by MaxxDaddy. Odd, lemony, kind of gabagey aroma, a touch of cinnamon. Similar flavor, a touch spicy, a touch smoky, kind of vegetal. Not great.

Apperance: Ruby red with a small head.
Aroma: Figs, Port wine, Raisin, Malt.
Flavor: Malts, Caramel, Raisin, Dark fruit (hello apricot!)
Palate: Very sweet and quite thick. The carbonation makes the liquid stik to the tongue.
This is exactly how i want a good doppelbock to taste. Very sweet and well crafted brew from Grebbestad! Recommended!
