Cask, The King’s Head, Leicester. Near black with a beige head. Aromas are earthy with minerals and coal. Peppery with coffee and dark berries and leafy notes. Spicy with liquorice and woody notes. Flavours are gritty coffee with pine and dark berries. Herbal with leafy notes and blackberries. Pithy and dry on the finish. Nice.

Poured a dark chestnut colour, with very little head.
Aromas of roast malt and fruit.Roast malt flavours with added blackcurrant juice making a sweetish brew with a little liquorice.Went down quite well but too light for my sort of stout.

Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Dark chestnut, ruby hue with off white head. Quite a sweet, malty beer, pretty fruity, sweet blackcurrant cordial. Some roasty malt notes, but struggled to distinguish it as a stout.
