“There’s a lot going on in this beer with two yeast strains, copious amounts of wheat malt, and a big focus on ‘C’ hops to deliver a citrus explosion,” explains Green Flash Brewmaster, Chuck Silva. “In fact we lined up more than a dozen hop varieties in the brewery to select three hops with the biggest citrus character to dry hop the beer. “This golden beer pours with beautiful, frothy white beer foam that lasts due to bottle conditioning. Gently rousing the yeast that settles in the bottle will result in a fuller texture and a more cloudy white appearance. The citrus aromas that jump from the glass are largely tangerine up front with other types of citrus notes that mingle with the Belgian yeast esters. Hop flavors of bitter orange zest dominate the brew and linger to the finish with a nice play of American and Belgian yeast combo.” A beer with so many components can be held together with a “Linchpin”. The official “Linchpin” of this beer is the skillful collaboration between the two breweries to create a unique hop-forward brew. Linchpins are symbolic: two simple shapes that combine to strengthen a bond amongst many different pieces.

Served from a 22 oz bottle from OTM. The appearance is a pale white gold with a huge white foam head. The flavors and aromas are very similar. Nice yeasty tones, not overly Belgium but leaning in that direction. A nice light creamy citrus and some stone fruits. This is my first "white IPA" and I guess what they really are are hopped up wibier. The mouth is nicely creamy with just a kiss of bitter. Overall I enjoyed this brew. Excited to see the Founder’s label on a West Coast shelf, even if it is just a collaboration.

"a style that I am really starting to enjoy, from two GREAT brewers. Should be good :) The aroma at first was actually a little strange. Fruitiness above hopiness, and not all coriander and orange. It opens up VERY nicely, has good body, and a dry yeasty hoppy finish. The wit characterisitics are really understated but add complexity to an already good ipa, and make this beer thoroughly refreshing. Glad I got two!"

floral, grass, slight belgium undertones, overall subtle aroma, enjoy the complexities but very mild aroma, golden, cloudy, white foam, minimal head, starts off sweet morphs into belgium flavor and finishes with mild sour grapefruit flavor love the transition between flavors, light body, thin feel, average carbonation, slight bitter finish

I mean, come on. You put these two breweries together and expect anything BUT awesomesauce? Yah right. This was fantastic. Super citrusy in the hop and bitter department, and the fruit esters of the Belgian yeast strain really come through (perhaps the Le Freak yeast?). Haven’t seen it in a while...hoping it pops up again!

Draft at the growler NYC on stone street. Pours a bronze tan looking color with no head. Smell and taste like a very flavorful full bodies iPa. Very good

Not as good as I was hoping. A little bit boring. Compared to previous white ipa this falls well short in flavor. A little dry finish as well for me.

A pale gold beer so jacked up on hops you can’t tell its white. The aroma is mostly earthy but a little stinky from those gym clothes hops everyone is in live with. Forward bite with a bitter floral petal taste. Refreshing and medium body is in the lighter side. Any yeasty, sweet, white notes are an afterthought so this is a repeater.

Bottle, probably about a year or two ago, or whenever this first came out. Nose shows a good helping of Belgian yeast esters, some white pepper spiciness, lemongrass, and light citrus fruits. Flavor is similar- a bit heavy on the yeasty side (which is often the case with White ipa’s for me) with some light citrus and pepper notes. Solid, but the BA version really improved the overall balance of this base beer in my opinion and made for a more well rounded and enjoyable beer.

Poured a nice white head and the color is light gold. Tastes great, hoppy flavor but not bitter. Good beer that I drank 6 weeks after I received it in a trade; looking back I wish I would have drank it that first night. Still good but fresh I bet this is awesome.

11/23/13. Big thanks to Brent for this gem! Lightly hazed deep golden pour with a big off-white head that won’t quit. Looks good. Funky aroma, hints of tartness and Belgian yeast aspects, plenty of citrus, a good mix of funk and hop. Great flavor, funky, lots of citrus, delicious. Yum.
